Why the support for Barack Obama (D)? I like universal health care, and I think Romney would be a disaster. I have qualms about drones, warrantless wiretapping, insufficient stiumuls, and economic inequality. My vote gets California'd, and I'm tempted to vote for Jill Stein, but I love me some Obama, and I want to be part of this.
College/school? B.A. St. John's College, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 1993. I spent my first two years of college at its sister campus, St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland.
How do/did you know Brendan/find this contest? Twitter.
Anything else? I live in California, and I'm strongly considering voting for Jill Stein, but I still hope Obama wins. And I still love Obama, despite my disappointment in him. Also, I'm not answering the next question, because I don't care about spectator sports. Scratch that. I don't care about spectator sports unless my child is playing.

Why the support for Barack Obama (D)? I'm with Obama on social (pro-choice, gay marriage, healthcare) and economic (listen to Paul Krugman, tax Mitt Romney) issues.
College/school? University of Michigan, 2006, BS - Computer Science & Latin
How do/did you know Brendan/find this contest? My mom used to mention Brendan because she's interested in weather stuff, and I happened across him on twitter and was surprised he wasn't totally in the bag for Republicans like she is.
Anything else? I was brought up very conservative and clung to my hardline social stances halfway through college, despite knowing for years that all of the arguments I had memorized were ridiculously tenuous. When I started thinking for myself, I switched sides of the aisle and have not looked back - I feel confident in all my positions now. I wonder if anybody makes the opposite switch without coming into a heap of money -- and if so, how? Why? I'm just trying to curry favor with Brendan with my BCS pick (although I did watch the Pitt/ND game with Domers and had a blast). Also I'm sick of the SEC lovefest of this millenium.

Why the support for Barack Obama (D)? Follow Brendan, Andrew Sullivan's Blog, Ezra Klein, Barro @ WSJ, The Nation, many others on Twitter and read several European newspapers on line every week. Romney is just a basic flake; venture vulture - no integrity; GOP is a dying sad party - too ideologically captured by fundamental religion, pro-life, trickle down economics - but they are the ones that have put us in so much debt recently - W Bush is responsible for at least 5.44 trillion of new deficit I believe etc.

Why the support for Barack Obama (D)? Because I prefer my social policies not from the 1950's. Also because its crazy to think you can recover from the greatest economic disaster of recent memory in less than 4 years. And he brews his own beer.
College/school? Undergrad at the University of Vermont in Dec of 2009 graduated with a double major in Political Science and History. Now working on my masters in Public Policy at potentially one of the only more liberal areas in the country than Vermont, at UMass Amherst.
How do/did you know Brendan/find this contest? We do stuff on the internet involving #BALLZ. After seeing people tweet out that they entered the contest enough times on twitter, peer pressure won out and I entered.
Anything else? I copied the vast bulk of my map from 538. The backlash against Silver this week has been ridiculous but not unsurprising. I think there is something to be said for the media's portrayal of a closer race then there might actually be. Also, my favorite fruit is Pineapple. Be sure to mention that if I somehow win this thing.

Anything else? I thought Romney ran a bad campaign. A better run campaign and he would have beat Obama, even as a weak candidate. Should have hammered home the Obamacare as a tax Supreme Court decision more, more on the economy, more on the definition of unemployment with people dropping out of workforce.

Anything else? This election is going to be far closer than it should be, mostly because neither main candidate inspires much confidence. Pres. Obama should be cruising to a second term, but his missteps (particularly with pressing forward Obamacare) have made this tough. As well, I find it amusing how often my country, Canada, has come up in the debates as if the candidates blindly assume we will agree to everything they propose to do with us.

Why the support for Barack Obama (D)? I don't feel like Mitt has any solid plans in this election. The tax reform could've been a radical boost, but had no substance. Mitt is weak there and I'd prefer Obama's past four years of leadership instead.

Why the support for Mitt Romney (R)? I believe President Obama is the wrong individual to lead our country and I don't believe his 1st term warrants the rewarding of a 2nd term. He has not ran on any sort of successful record and he used his mandate in 2008 to advance his healthcare agenda rather than being focused on our economy.
