All right, now that the official wedding photos are finally here, it’s time to get on with the caption contests. But first… I’m declaring Alasdair the winner of contest #13. Honorable mentions to JO and my dad’s 3rd.

Our official wedding “proof book” finally arrived in the mail yesterday — but it didn’t come with a CD of all the photos, like it was supposed to. I called up the photographer, and apparently they simply forgot to include the CD. Gah. So they sent out the CD yesterday. Alas, this means my full online wedding photo galleries, combining the official photographer’s pics with everyone else’s, will have to wait until sometime next week.

(If you were at the wedding, and you have digital photos — or digitized versions of film photos — that you haven’t sent to me yet, now would be a good time to e-mail me so we can figure out how to transfer those puppies!)

In the mean time, let’s have another caption contest…

For the uninitiated, that’s my dad (Joe Loy) and Mike (Wiser), the latter of fellow USC and Trojan Hall alum/Stanford Ph.D. student/evoluntary microbiologist/nerdy (mad?) scientist fame… the former a noted Irishman, an elections official for three decades, and an alleged pirate. Arr. :) That should give y’all enough material to work with…

Oh, and I guess I should declare winners for the last several contests, huh? Okay… dcl wins #7 (especially appropriate since tomorrow is an “orange t-shirt day” at ND)… with an honorable mention to LaundraMatt. (I have no idea why I think that one is so funny, but I do.) Contest #8 goes to Jazz (his second victory). I win #9 (again with the biased officiating!). ChristineL wins #10, for looking past the obvious boob-joke possibilities and calling Andrew a nerd. :) #11 goes to Lojo (the first one), with Joe a close second. And LaundraMatt wins #12 with an exquisitely bad pun. Let the bitching about my poor judging begin… :)

I’ve been feeling like something is missing from the blog, and I suddenly realized what it is: caption contests! We haven’t had one for like a week. Well, here goes…

What the hell, let’s do two simultaneous caption contests… the more the merrier…

Okay… y’all are disgusting :) so I am declaring myself the winner of the previous contest. Hey, I’m just as impartial as an NFL referee!

I realize I haven’t started a new caption contest in a few days… time to remedy that. But first off, the winner of the previous contest is, again, Casey: “After a long search, the world’s first all-chicken orchestra thought they had finally found a conductor who could be trusted not to eat the musicians…” Heh.

Now then… this picture is from the rehearsal, taken by Andrew, and it shows bridesmaid Kristy, left, and Becky’s sister and matron of honor Jen, right…

Thoughts?

First of all, regarding the previous two contests, I am naming David the winner of his own contest with “Why can’t I ever be the one to catch the bouquet…” As for Andrew’s contest, Casey wins, now that I get the joke: “Perhaps this isn’t the best time for pocket pool. Ah, what the hell.” Heh.

Now then, time for a new contest… today’s victim is groomsman Sean (the straight-edge atheist libertarian Spanish teacher with the black belt in karate who I’ve been friends with since third grade), seen during the cocktail hour sampling the hors d’oeuvres:
