We had a very nice visit with the Santa Barbarians. :) Here’s me and Becky with Kaja, Jen and Sören on Stearns Wharf:
And here’s a shot of Kaja being grumpy:

Happy Birthday to Becky’s mom, Ginny!!! :)
(According to the timestamp, I should say Happy Belated Birthday… but it’s still May 27 in California, where I am, as I’m typing this. Hehe.)

That’s “Mr. and Mrs. Long’s big day.” The Spanish title is, of course, a shout-out to Bea’s Colombian heritage, which was on full display at both the ceremony and reception… especially the latter, when a Colombian dance troupe performed (and ultimately invited the newlyweds onto the dance floor) in a surprise orchestrated by Bea’s parents:
That was fun, and it was a lovely wedding all-around. Here’s a cute shot of Becky and Andrew earlier in the day:
And here’s one of me and Becky, who coincidentally matched (my purple tie was for purposes of matching the bridesmaids’ dresses, but it also happened to match the purple lining of Becky’s dress):
By the way, that’s a black wrap she’s wearing around her arm — it’s not actually part of the dress. Just in case anyone was wondering.
Anyway, I’ll post a full wedding gallery later, but for now, a brief sampling of photo highlights is after the jump.

Diane Huffman, with whom I’ve been friends almost literally since the womb, married Josh Krause yesterday in Wethersfield, Connecticut. I was sadly unable to make it, because I’m a groomsman in Andrew and Bea’s wedding in L.A. later today, and the flight schedules made it impossible to reliably make it to two weddings on two coasts in two days. But my mom sent me some photos, and it looks like it was lovely. Here’s one of the happy couple with Diane’s parents, Vicki and Tim, and brother Bill:
As you can see, Diane was a beautiful bride. Here are a couple more photos:
Congratulations, Diane & Josh!
Now, it’s your turn, Andrew & Bea! :)

During our trip to Buffalo last weekend, we had a great time visiting with Shannon, P.J., Barb, Weston, Casey, a couple of Casey’s Ph.D. friends, and the Bfloblog guys. But with all due respect to all of them, in terms of raw entertainment value, they just can’t match Casey’s octopus or Shannon and P.J.’s baby. :) Here are some video clips of those two — first Pericles, then Logan:
Sorry it took so long to get those online. Incidentally, my photo gallery of the trip, including the Sabres game, is here.
I think this is a pretty accurate representation of our cats’ attitude toward Robbie. Heh. (Hat tip: Becca.)
Speaking of Becca, on her other blog, she recently posted this really beautiful picture of a recent snowy morning at Notre Dame, and these nice ones too. And if that wasn’t enough, she also offers a good music alert, which I will be intergrating into my iCal momentarily.
P.S. LOL!
Is cell-phone photo posting via Flickr working again? This is a test. … It is also a picture, taken Saturday afternoon, of the endlessly adorable Logan trying to grab my phone. :)

Toni Mardirossian, Kevin Moot and Jimmy Paulino, who previously won the Region 8 championship of the National Trial Competition, competed in the national championship in Houston over the weekend… and finished third out of 14 teams!!
Well, at least somebody at this law school is highly ranked. :) Seriously, congrats to Toni, Kevin and Jimmy!
CLARIFICATION: When I say “third out of 14,” I was referring to the 14 who advanced to nationals. When you consider all the teams who participated at all stages, they were actually third out of 280 teams from 150 different law schools!
