At least, that’s what Fox 28 seems to be telling us:
Heh. Damn that liberal media!
In other Cheney-related news, I absolutely love this photo:
You know, if I had a choice between a registered sex offender living across the street, and that guy living across the street… it might be a close call…
Defying a threatened crackdown, two dozen Zahm Hall residents streaked twice through LaFortune Student Center just after midnight Monday, delighting a large crowd of onlookers (both male and female) as they successfully completed another edition of the semiannual “Bun Run.”
I attended the event thinking there might be a clash between naked Domers and campus police, which would have been quite a newsworthy spectacle. Nothing of the sort happened, but it was still an entertaining exhibition, complete with a naked dude on a skateboard.
The first time they came through, at 12:06 AM, a total of 24 streakers made the run up the stairs from the basement, through the first-floor lounge and lobby, past the Huddle and out the door. They then apparently re-entered the building on the lower level, and 22 of them repeated their naked run past the enthusiastic crowd two minutes later. I’m not sure what happened to the other two streakers, though there were reports of NDSP officers “outside every entrance,” so it’s possible 2 of the original 24 were apprehended on their way back into the building. I don’t know, though. There was no visible police presence inside LaFortune itself, at least not on the first floor where the Bun Run(s) took place.
Lisa took video of both runs, which can be seen (with the streakers’ faces obscured) after the jump. Warning: nudity!!!

Like a half-dozen different people have sent me this, so I figure I’d better actually post it. :) Here you go:
Heh.
Speaking of USC football, the kickoff times for a bunch of their games were announced yesterday, along with the rest of ESPN/ABC’s Saturday Night Football slate.
Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, a rookie out of Long Beach State, completed an unassisted triple play Sunday, just the thirteenth in Major League Baseball history. (Complete list here.) Here’s the video:
[UPDATE: The video has been removed from YouTube. You can still view it on this page, however. Just click on “400K” next to “Tulowitzki turns three.”]
Sweet.
In other baseball news Sunday, the Red Sox beat the Yankees 7-4 to win the series at Yankee Stadium 2-1 and finish 5-1 in the season’s first six games between the archrivals. The Yanks have lost 8 of 9 overall, and there is some talk that Joe Torre’s job may be in jeopardy (which is ridiculous, but whatever, that’s George Steinbrenner for ya). New York is 9-14 and in last place in the AL East, 6 1/2 games behind first-place Boston.
The one bright spot this month for the Yankees has been Alex Rodriguez, who has been playing like he might actually be worth the eighty gajillion dollars they pay him. Even so, as a Red Sox fan, I was amused by this satirical take on all the media hype surrounding A-Rod:
Heh. I dunno what the origin of that clip is, but I heard it on Buffalo’s WGR 550 while listening to the Sabres postgame show.
Speaking of the Red Sox and Yankees, even funnier is the new SportsCenter ad featuring David Oritz, Jorge Posada, and Wally, the Red Sox mascot. If you haven’t seen it, here it is:
LOL!
UPDATE: For the moment, it least, it appears that Joe Torre still has a job. Here’s what the back page of the New York Post looks like:
Boris Yeltsin’s death has me reminiscing about some of his greatest hits…
Is it disrespectful to post funny videos of President Yeltsin on the day he died? Perhaps, but as Lisa said when I asked her that question just now, I hope that when I die, people have a good laugh about the funny things I did in my life. To wit, if this blog is still around when I die, I hereby give my guestbloggers permission to re-post the video of me tripping over the tennis net. In fact, I insist on it. :)
Besides, I’m remembering ol’ Boris fondly here. As I said in comments earlier, “It makes me nostalgic for the good old days when Russian presidents were merely drunken buffoons instead of wannabe fascists.”
R.I.P., President Yeltsin. May the vodka flow freely in heaven. :)

For those who missed ‘em, here’s a 7-minute video clip of the Red Sox’s four consecutive home runs as they happened last night:
If you want to see just the home runs, here’s a 53-second clip.
I feel lucky to have watched history unfold live. It was the first baseball game I’ve watched all season. I picked a good night to tune in!

There’s a new Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix international trailer out!
(Hat tip: Andrew Leyden.) It’s on YouTube, so I don’t know how long it’ll be up before it gets yanked by the powers-that-be. Watch it while you still can!
UPDATE: Doesn’t seem like they’re cracking down, since there are a whole bunch of copies up on YouTube.

During our trip to Buffalo last weekend, we had a great time visiting with Shannon, P.J., Barb, Weston, Casey, a couple of Casey’s Ph.D. friends, and the Bfloblog guys. But with all due respect to all of them, in terms of raw entertainment value, they just can’t match Casey’s octopus or Shannon and P.J.’s baby. :) Here are some video clips of those two — first Pericles, then Logan:
Sorry it took so long to get those online. Incidentally, my photo gallery of the trip, including the Sabres game, is here.
John McCain says critics of his “Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran” quip — which may have been based on an antiwar Internet video that “went viral” last year — should “lighten up and get a life.” (Hat tip: InstaPundit.)
Just to follow up on yesterday’s post about Simon Cowell supposedly disrespecting the Virginia Tech victims, here’s a video of how American Idol addressed the issue at the top of last night’s show:
Also, if you missed it (as I did), you can watch the clip of Sanjaya being voted off. Note the crowd cheering wildly, rather than the loud booing from fans of the ousted contestants that usually predominates. Heh.

Now that American Idol has aired on the West Coast, I think it’s safe to blog this:
WOOHOO!!! Sanjaya got voted off!!!
The folks at VoteForTheWorst.com are unhappy, of course, and I’m sure Howard Stern is, too. But the vast majority of Idol’s fan base is relieved, as we can stop fretting about the possibility of Sanyaja (gasp) winning… and stop listening to him sing (or should I say, “sing”) every Tuesday night. If you missed it, here’s the ghastly performance that finally led to his ouster:
For all the hype, controversy, hunger strikes and so forth, Sanjaya didn’t get as far as the last severely under-talented contestant to make it into Idol’s later rounds: Buffalo’s own John Stevens, who wasn’t voted out until the Top 6 show of Season 3, outlasting Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson (who was voted out at the Top 7 stage, which is what last night’s show was). Of course, Sanjaya was significantly worse than John, and also, I think Sanjaya’s fan base was more cynical, voting for him because he was bad, whereas John’s fan base was more delusional, failing to recognize that he was bad. But still.
Anyway, 7 out of 14 contestants in my American Idol pool correctly predicted Sanjaya’s eviction. Only two of them, however — myself and my co-leader, Jay Johnson — picked Sanjaya this week after having never predicted his ouster in any previous week. (Mark Gardner and Kevin Hauschulz had each picked him once before; Marty West, twice; Toni Namnath, three times; and Vicki from NJ, a whopping five times. Heh.)
Updated standings after the jump.

I realize the tintinnabulation is a bit cacophonous (how’s that for a sentence that would impress your high-school English teacher?) in my mobile-video post from the Basilica, so here’s a higher-quality recording:
It was a lovely Vespers service. I’ll admit I got goosebumps when, after a long build-up on the organ, the choir finally started singing “Jesus Christ Is Risen Today” (one of my favorite hymns, hence the audio clip earlier).
Anyway, here are a couple of photos:
Bill O’Reilly looked fairly unbalanced during a heated argument with fellow Fox anchor Geraldo Rivera over illegal immigration and drunk driving on The O’Reilly Factor yesterday. The fireworks really begin around the 5:50 mark in the video clip:
Heh. Awesome. (Hat tip: Anonymous.)
P.S. MSNBC’s resident O’Reilly-hater, Keith Olbermann, in an “utterly unprecedented” and “shocking” development, gives a “Best Person in the World” award to Geraldo.
UPDATE: Even more awesome: the Chipmunked version of the Rivera-O’Reilly showdown. LOL!
