So, a funny thing happened on the way to Marissa and Keith’s wedding this weekend. (Airport representatives, take note!)
It all started in a concourse at Hartsfield Jackson International…I was flying from Denver to Buffalo by way of Atlanta, to take part in the nuptial festivities. While waiting for my connecting flight, I stopped for lunch. I was hungry, but not nearly hungry enough for fried food. I chose…. a salad. This may seem inconsequential; I don’t know. That was Friday.
Saturday morning — and I mean morning — I woke up at 4 am with a stomach flu. Only, it wasn’t really a stomach flu, cuz I’ve had those before, and the symptoms [incessant upchucking aside, of course] were noticeably absent. I reviewed my Friday evening: a beer with my cousin, lasagna with my family. Everyone else was fine, though, so unless my particular beer happened to be skanky, which is a slim chance, I was baffled. Anyhoo, after a 16 hour show of some rather stunning digestive pyrotechnics, I missed seeing little Baby Logan, missed the wedding, missed doing my speech, and cried the whole plane ride home on Sunday. I know, I know. Take a moment for the pity party.
Pity stopped when I heard on the news that, YAY! The ban on spinach was lifted. But, they placed one on a certain brand of lettuce. E. coli. I did a little bit of research, quite a few of the symptoms were in line with what I had (and still have, a little bit - can’t eat my full repetoire of brownies and fried cheese yet), and so I ask your opinion, oh great Blogosphere: should I be concerned?? Do I have E. coli?? And should I tell the airport? The authorities? Scotland Yard?? Any way it goes, be warned: when they say, “don’t eat lettuce,” I think they really mean it.

The AP recently reported that the U.S. is reclassifying certain documents pertaining to Cold War missiles and systems. Read about it here.
Most of the discussion around this is based on government secrecy and abuse of power, blah blah blah. I wonder if anyone is concerned, though, about the implications this has with regard to, OH I don’t know, the whole North Korea situation. I mean, that’s worthy of discussion to me! I’m just saying….
