My dear Jim (who I often refer to as my husband, but really we just live happliy in sin for 11 years now) saw it right away. There was no subscript on typewriters in 1972 (unless you had about 100,000 bucks for special machines) and the alignment was way too good: no hy-phens, nothing that would suggest a typewriter from 1972. That CBS did not see this is questionable at best.
This is all just so silly… American people as a whole are much smarter than this and I personally am weary of the BS.
Brendan’s frustration is heartfelt, and as a converted Republican I understand exactly his sentiment.
I adored Bill Clinton… heck, I remember thinking at the time of the last elections, “Well, if they cannot figure out who won, let’s just let Bill run it for another 4 years.” The thought actually comforted me.
But now I am different.. and I see Bill differently. I see the world differently and I hope our politicians will see the world differently and focus on the future, not the past… deal with the reality of the world today… to make sure we silly Americans are not left like lambs to the slaughter because they want to roll in the mud of 35 years ago.
Last week 350 children were killed by Muslim Extremists. The week before that, 85 Russians were killed by the same group. Today, another bomb went off in Jakarta… and for God’s sake, we have to bring an end to this insanity… I cannot bear to watch this another day.

Today my heart sank just a little bit farther…
Now you have to know me to know what a huge Springsteen fan I am… but today is the day I took the posters down, I took the hand-painted portrait down, I put the CD’s in the back of the drawer and swallowed hard…
because for me, at least, today is the day the music died.
Funded and facilitated by the EXTREME LEFT WING MoveOn.org, Springsteen and friends have begun a concert series through the battleground states in an effort to defeat Bush.
Bruce will be on Koppel’s show tonight as well.
Oh I remember thinking on 9/11, what would Bruce say, what will he write, what sounds will this create … will he write a song with his famous scream, loud enough to echo how I felt but was too stunned to voice…
After all, Bruce is from Jersey and over 669 people from New Jersey alone were killed on that fateful day.
Springsteen was mentioned in hundreds of obituaries of the many people murdered on that day.
Yes yes, I knew that Bruce was a liberal… but even at the last concert I attended he addressed the audience by saying, “I know that we have people with different political beliefs in the audience and I welcome you all”
Now he sends me e-mail asking me to go to the MoveOn.org web site…
As the song says……
Oh and there we were all in one place, a generation lost in space with no time left to start again, so come on, Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack Flash sat on a candle stick because fire is the devil’s only friend, oh and as I watched him on the stage, my hands were clinched in fists of rage, no angel born in hell could break that Satan’s spell and as the planes climbed high into the night to light the sacrificial rite I saw Satan laughing with delight, the day, the music died. He was singin…

I really am not sure what category this belongs under…
Could be Gay Issues, Could be Politics, Could be Humor…
In an interview with Sharon Stone, she says the following:
“Halle’s so beautiful and I wanted to kiss her. I said, ‘How can you have us in the movie and not have us kiss? That’s such a waste.’ That’s what you get for having George Bush as president.”
This interview got me to thinking about all the ridiculous things I have heard blamed on President Bush.
While visiting my second home in Maui, I was enjoying an afternoon at the condo’s beach cabana, which was at the time under construction because the sand at the beach had been swept away by unusual currents and then all at once within a 24-hour period the sand returned and uplifted the cabana from its foundation.
A woman from southern California was also enjoying the afternoon there and we got to talking… She had the following to say.. “The reason the sand went away is because the earth can feel the anger in the world caused by George Bush and it is showing its fury.”
At which point I said… gee I think I am getting a sunburn, I’d better go back to the condo … I wanted to say the following: “You are mentally ill and Michael Savage has it right, Liberalism is a mental disease”
But I left shaking my head all the way home.
Apparently Bush is responsible for everything that goes wrong in the world, both manmade and natural.

I wonder if we had heard a warning call about 9/11 would we have reacted differently then?
On September 17 2001 Dan Rather was the first guest on David Letterman after the attacks. I just watched the interview again and was struck by several statements from Dan Rather.
There are many people today who want you to believe that it was President Bush who sold the American people on the idea that Saddam Hussein was connected to 9/11 and to tell you the truth I do not remember Bush saying that… but I do know that people have or had that perception.
Below is a quote from the Dan Rather Interview with David Letterman… Maybe it was the Media who created this idea…
Here is a link to the video of the interview it is well worth watching.
Quote from the Video
Dan: We now know that Saddam Hussein, we mentioned, you know, if he isn’t connected to this, he’s connected to any other things. He’s part of this “hate America” thing.
You have to understand that Saddam Hussein is somebody I have sat this close, eye to eye. When his feet hit the floor every morning, he dreams of leading a victorious Arab army into Jerusalem, and he sees himself as the new Saladin.
And his hate is deep for us. I don’t even like to use the word “hate,” but, you know, this is what we’re dealing with, and we have to wake up.
Here is a link to the text of the entire interview.
