Even as I type, Keith Olbermann is Going Nuts about this. Granted, for Keith it’s a Short Trip. :) But his Countdown guest, that guy from Newsweek wutsisname, is also indulging in Wild speculation built upon Rampant speculation grounded in Utter speculation, having already pronounced the story Huge. This is embarrassing. Fie.
“‘This is an outrageous breach of security and privacy, even from an administration that has shown little regard for either over the last eight years,’” said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton in a statement.
Either Bill Burton has a severe case of “Bush derangement syndrome,” which is prbable, or else he knows about some administration link, which is much less plausible, but much more interesting.
Groan. We’re likely talking 5.00 an hour contract employees who simply clicked open a file like would be TMZ cub reporters, and we’re talking the State Department (not necessarily the bastion of bushism at the civil cervant level), I don’t think you need to worry Maxy.
First, there are no $5-an-hour contract workers at the State Department. I know contract workers with State, they must have a security clearance and make at least $50K a year. If they have access to Obama’s information, they could be even more senior.
Funny thing is, the person in charge of that function at State is an appointee from the Clinton era.
I don’t doubt that it was probably something innocent. But to just assume it is, and disregard proper procedures which require an investigation, is just wrong-headed.

I’m still waiting for the Olbermann/O’Reilly battle to the death (preferable of both of them).

This quote on cnn is kind of strange:
“‘This is an outrageous breach of security and privacy, even from an administration that has shown little regard for either over the last eight years,’” said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton in a statement.
Either Bill Burton has a severe case of “Bush derangement syndrome,” which is prbable, or else he knows about some administration link, which is much less plausible, but much more interesting.

By the way, the Olbermann rant is at crooksandliars.com, a website which I don’t recommend and have been banned from several times.

Why do people have to blow hot air on conspiracy theories - especially ones involving Obama ?
March 20th, 2008 at 10:40:18 pm
Are you saying there’s a conspiracy conspiracy against Obama?

Considering these folks work(ed) for the party that brought you Watergate and Iran Contra, anything is possible.
