What horrors will those evil bastards at Apple come out with next!!
I dunno, more bitchin’ stuff that’s cooler than anything else on the market?
I really dig the concept of this docking station, and if it’s genuine, I would probably even consider ditching my 17″ MacBook Pro to switch to the smaller MacBook and this docking set up.
I have a new HP lappy that I purchased for one piece of state issued practice software that doesn’t work on Mac, and one other proprietary thing, neither of which wanted to play well with VMWare Fusion.
I’ve had PCs for a great number of years, but I’ve never really enjoyed computers until I got my Mac. Oh, yeah, and BTW, I think my Safari issue has been cleared up thanks to a 5 minute call with AppleCare.
Since you are a PC user in the past, you probably don’t remember, but when Apple had the Duo sub-notebooks they had a dock for those, it didnt’ include monitor but it was highly popular, as were the Duo’s.
David K can dock his macbook into his imac and then dock his ipod into his iphone and then dock those onto his double docked macbook/imac combo then use his wireless mouse to activate his wireless keyboard then connect to itunes and buy even more things!!
I am an avid mac user. I have a macbook, ipod(s), and other mac accouterment but a computer that docks into a computer seems a little over the top…even for apple.
Marty before you get snarky perhaps you should READ the post and the links. This is NOT a computer. Its a docking station/monitor. While your on the road a small portable with a small screen might do, but gee, wouldn’t it be nice to sit down at home, slide your computer into a dock, get a larger monitor and external keyboard and mouse and whatever other peripherals quickly and easily?? Considering how succesful docking stations/ultra-portables have been in the past i’m going to go with that, and not your blatantly failure to comprehend.
David, I have tried both Parallels and VMWare Fusion for Windows on the MacBook, but not BootCamp. I’m actually now thinking that I’m pretty sure I want to go ahead and delete the whole virtual machines set up (I also stuck ubuntu on there to play around with it), just to clean up the Mac, and make it all Leopardy.
Makes sense Jay, too bad you have to have that one proprietary app that won’t play well with the virtualization stuff. Did you try it with more recent versions? There have been a lot of improvements in the later versions from what i’ve read.
No, I haven’t tried it. I forgot the other app that I use that doesn’t play nice with Fusion. I have a subscription to Rhapsody, and while I can play music through the web based side of it on the Mac, I can’t connect my Sansa player to load music on it with the Mac or the Windows running on Fusion.
For many of the young men and women that I have met through my“ I’ ve Got the Power†abstinence curriculum, basketball is their number one hobby, and it saddens me that these fine young men and women are confronted by sexual temptations while sitting in their living rooms watching the game that I love. In addition to the cheerleaders, suggestive mascots, in- game music and Eva Longoria sideline shots (see my letters of 3/ 8/ 2005, 4/ 1/ 2005, 7/ 6/ 2005 and 9/ 21/ 2005), many of the phrases that your…
