Transformers will set the record for the biggest 7-day opening by a non-sequel with an estimated $152.5 million, beating out the first Spider-Man ($151.6M) and Harry Potter ($129M) movies and The Passion of the Christ ($145M), and settling into seventh on the all-time list behind Pirates 2 ($196M), Spider-Man 2 ($192M), Star Wars Episode III ($191M), Spider-Man 3 ($182M), Pirates 3 ($160M) and Matrix 2 ($153M).
I regard this as very good news, because it means there will almost certainly be a sequel, which in turn means there will presumably be more Megan Fox.

Actually, they’ve already greenlighted TWO sequels. LaBeof (sp?) and Fox are under contract for both, although it is unclear if Michael Bay will return as director.

I wish the creators of the film would’ve spent more than 20 minutes on the storyline. There’s no reason that a person can’t watch the 80 episodes or so of the original cartoon and put together a great trilogy ala X-MEN. Not some clustermess in Downtown in LA with a poorman’s energon cube being the center of attention.

bleh! I thought the movie was horrible. So many plot holes. Not enough robot action. When the robots fought, it was such a blurry mess and I couldn’t even make out any fight moves! And yeah Megan Fox is hot and all, but how much belly button does one movie (or sequels for that matter) really need??
I just hope that if sequels are made that there is less useless banter and more robots! Did anyone else feel like the movie was 85% talk and 15% Transformers?
