A federal judge said Friday he doesn’t have the power to undo the $100 million worth of damage done by an apparent typographical error in a plea agreement between the Justice Department and tax evader extraordinare Walter Anderson. The Justice Department accidentally cited the wrong law in the written agreement, and the judge refused to “fix” the “typo” in enforcing the plea.
In a related story, I hear there’s an opening in the Justice Department tax-enforcement division… ;)

Again with the Divil’s Dwelling, nestled among the Details. / Proofread. Proofread. Proofread. ;}
Apparently there was a bigfat error of Omission, in addition to the one Committed re incorrect citation:
[the judge] “…said he would have worked around the problem by ordering Anderson to repay the money as part of his probation. But prosecutors omitted any discussion of probation — a common element of plea deals — from Anderson’s paperwork.”
