I have no idea what got me thinking about this, but I believe my current ZIP code is the ninth one I’ve lived in: 06106, 06111, 90007, 10040, 85215, 46556, 46637, 85301, and now, 37919. (And then of course there’s 14221, which I spent so much time in, I feel like I might as well have lived there. Same goes for 85218.)
How many ZIP codes have y’all lived in? Anyone got more than nine?
P.S. I’m not going to list all my addresses, but I’ve had 12 of those: four in 90007 (L.A.) and one for each other ZIP code. And I’ve moved between and among those addresses… let’s see now… 19 times, I believe. With all but one of those moves being in the last eight years. :)

Several, but all in Tennessee, weirdly enough.
And, BTW, what the hell are you doing awake at 3 am?
June 2nd, 2007 at 3:28:28 am
If you look at the last couple days of posts, I’ve had posts at 3:06 AM (today), 12:45 AM (yesterday), 2:00 AM (the day before) and 3:10 AM (the day before that). Meanwhile I’ve been waking up in the 10am-noon range. I don’t think I’ve really adjusted yet to the time change upon returning from the West Coast … probably because I keep being a dumbass and staying up late for no reason. :) Which admittedly, is rather circular.
Anyway, I’m off to bed now.

I think i’m up to six, maybe seven.
June 2nd, 2007 at 3:38:14 am
Of course unlike you Brendan i’ve managed to do all but one of those in one state :)
June 2nd, 2007 at 3:58:51 am
Zip codes: 1 in TX, 2 in NC (maybe 3? I’m not calling my parents this late to find out), 1 in AR, 1 in PA, 1 in VA, and 7 in CA. So 13.
(plus 1 in MD, 1 in RI, and another in VA that were 1 month or less, but I got mail to each place. Still, don’t think they should count)
Moves: 8 before I was 9, then 10 since I turned 17 (not counting any stints back home, which is technically more moving and packing but seems like cheating to me). Working on 19th move & 14th zip (8th CA) but that won’t be for months at least. 6 of the moves have been since I was married (2 years ago) and don’t count when I was away training.
Right now I think of this apartment as temporary and so have decided there’s no need to unpack any more boxes that will need repacking so soon. =0)

That’s kind of depressing. I want a house. With cupboards where I can put all my dishes away and leave them for an indefinite amount of time.
June 2nd, 2007 at 8:18:20 am
I’m an air force brat. I’ve lived in at least four different postal codes and had 2 different APOs in the UK alone. Then one in Fla., one in N.M., one in AZ, and at least 7 in Ca..
June 2nd, 2007 at 8:34:27 am
What a dumb question :)…So of course I had to figure it out since I have been all around the country. So here goes…in chronological order (# in parentheses is # of addresses if more than 1): 10451, 64132, 64134, 64112, 90034(3), 90035, 90048, 90025(2), 56633, 56601, 50309, 90064, 91104, 90027, 04843, 04841, 04861, 10021.
Of course it helps that I am 102 years old. :)
June 2nd, 2007 at 9:20:18 am
Only 10 that I can remember here…
June 2nd, 2007 at 9:59:03 am
Let’s see, 2 in Texas, 2 in Indiana, 1 in Tennessee, 1 in Illinois, 1 in Georgia (until our move in a month)-so 7 for now, 8 in a month.
June 2nd, 2007 at 10:26:00 am
I’m at nine. I can’t remember some of them, like when I lived in Pasadena and Pacific Beach.
I remember my area codes.
714, 619, 818, 213, back to 619, 408, 510 and 702.
June 2nd, 2007 at 11:13:32 am
Zip codes? Hrmmmm . . . 15744, 15765, 15701, 17520, 17603, 21250, 20872, 20832, 20879, 20886.
The 15s are Western PA around the town of Indiana, PA (spend the most time in my life in 15701 so far), the 17s are Lancaster, PA, and the 2s are all from my job here in the suburban Maryland area, centered around Gaithersburg.
June 2nd, 2007 at 12:06:19 pm
22030, 22181, 20110, 20151, 20170, 20878, 20742, 20740, 20814, 20878 (again).
I might be missing a few, my parents moved a lot when I was very young and they were trying to out-move each other during a divorce — but the above are what I actually remember.
June 2nd, 2007 at 12:23:33 pm
12 + three countries on three continents (europe, asia, and south america)
June 2nd, 2007 at 5:39:04 pm
Can’t resist.
Let’s see: 1 in CT, 2 in GA, 2 in OH, 1 in NC, 1 in NY, 2 in SC, 2 in TX.
Brendan, enjoy your summer. When I was between grad. school and work I told myself that I would get up whenever the hell I wanted to, go the bed whenever the hell I wanted to, and with whomever the hell I wanted to!
June 2nd, 2007 at 6:14:28 pm
Heh. Well, that last one definitely doesn’t apply to me. :) As for the others, it’s true that I can make my own schedule, but only within the confines of studying for the bar and keeping the wife happy…
June 2nd, 2007 at 6:46:35 pm
45036 (Lebanon, OH), 45054 (Oregonia, OH), 45029 (Kettering, OH), 45305 (Bellbrook, OH), 43023 (Granville, OH), 22202 (Arlington, VA), 46637 (South Bend, IN), 46556 (Notre Dame, IN), 45459 (Centerville, OH).

12 Zips, and 2 Foreign Postal Codes.
June 2nd, 2007 at 9:52:56 pm
I’m in number eight, domestically, and nine if you count the six months I lived in Edinburgh while studying abroad.
June 3rd, 2007 at 1:29:24 am
I’m not going to break any records here, but I’ve had four in Jersey alone and 5 total… 07030 (Hoboken - 12 yrs), 07087 (Union City - 1 yr), 07305 (Jersey City - 8 yrs), and 07??? (New Brunswick - approx. 1 yr, but I cannot for the life of me remember the zip right now). The rest of my 25 years (damn, I typed 24 then I remembered my birthday was yesterday and now I’m older :( …) was in CA, so 90007
June 3rd, 2007 at 1:56:29 am
Happy Belated Birthday, Vicki!!!
Being 25 isn’t that bad, I promise. :)

Geographically (not chronologically) ~
Connecticut:
* 06062, Plainville, my first hometown, where I still resided when this newfangled ZIP (Zone Improvement Plan) Code was introduced nationwide in 1963 :)
* 06119, West Hartford
* 06117, West Hartford (this one only for a few months but to me it Counts)
* 06095, Windsor
* 06106, Hartford
* 06111, Newington
Washington D.C.:
* 20007 (5 different dwellings, various different Years, same ZIP :)
* 20008 (1 / the Last :)
Brooklyn, NY:
* 11201 (I think) (like 06117 above, this was for only a few months but it Counts) (and Never you Mind :)
June 3rd, 2007 at 12:42:03 pm
Thanks, Brendan. :)
June 3rd, 2007 at 5:59:16 pm
Only 6 for me: chronologically 14223, 90007, 14150, 94305, 48912, 48910. I could tehnically claim a few others (33908 is listed as my permanent address these days but I’ve not lived there for greater than a 2 week stretch, and 2 foreign codes –Costa Rican and Canadian — neither of which for more than 3 weeks at a time), but those 6 are real. However, I’m amused that I’m at that many at 26 given that I lived in the same house from birth through high school graduation.

A late response from me but I gotta chime in since I may have the record. The low record that is. Only two in 41 years. One in Jersey and one in Alabama. All three moves since NJ have been within the same zip. Gotta love rural Bama. :-)
June 4th, 2007 at 3:05:53 pm
49107 (three addresses)
49120 (one address; part-time (my dad’s house post-divorce))
48825 (two addresses)
48823 (one address)
48910 (one address)
20121 (one address)
22031 (one address)
48917 (one address)
48842 (one address)
46545 (one address)
20902 (one address)
21117 (one address) (effective 6/15/07)
Huh. 12. More than I would have guessed.

4. Aix-en-Provence France (13100 - French postal code)
