Since I know I’m not the only one thinking it: Thomas was a Republican, and Wyoming has a Democratic governor, but according to Fox News, “[I]n the event of the senator’s passing, the governor chooses from a limited list of qualified candidates submitted from the replacement senator’s own party… [S]tate law removes any possibility of a party switch in the replacement process.”
He only got 70% of the vote in the last election. I think they should really leave the replacement to be picked by the Senate majority leader Lou Holtz.
And what about the democrat that had the Braineurism? Is he back yet?
