Blogging will be light today
Posted by on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at 2:57 am

I know when I say “blogging will be light,” I usually don’t stick to it… but I really, really need to get some serious work done today on my Electoral College paper, which is due next week (and which appears likely to be quite long, considering I’m currently on Page 11, but haven’t even finished part “I” on my outline, which has “VI” parts). So I don’t expect I’ll be blogging or commenting much today.

Just a reminder, though: the women’s Final Four is tonight, and the pool ramifications are as follows: if LSU and UNC win, it’s Daniel Port vs. Jennifer Elam. If LSU and Tennessee win, it’s Brian Dupuis vs. Scott Fort. If Rutgers and UNC win, it’s Rick Boeckler vs. Jennifer Elam. If Rutgers and Tennessee win, it’s Josh Krause vs. Scott Fort.

Oh, and for those of you who were just dying to know who won the WNIT (anyone? anyone? Bueller?)… ’twas Wyoming, by a score of 72-56 over Wisconsin in a battle of UWs. The Cowboys’ relatively easy title-game victory followed a triple-overtime semifinal win over defending champ Kansas State.

    You’ve got the makings of what Should be an Excellent paper, there. (This of course having Nothing to do with the fact that I largely Agree with your Argument. :) Stick with it, old Kiddoe, you can Do it. Light Blogging is Good. Guestbloggers will leap into the Breach. Maybe I’ll even do another Norn Iron one. / Or Not. Whichever will Help you more. :> waw haw haw {shaddup :}

I for one, would be curious to read the final paper. I also agree with your analysis and have defended the electoral college. Don’t think we’ll ever see it go away because too many small states would see the small voting power they do have, go away…and the only way to change the constitution is for a large majority of the states to agree (I forget if it’s 2/3s or 3/4s to get a Constitutional change).

  3. Brian Foster Says:

It’s 3/4, but apparently some nefarious “non-profit” “public interest” group has found an at least potentially viable workaround. And, offering further proof of my theory that Maryland sucks, it appears to be taking hold in Annapolis:

Will part VI be titled “The Undiscovered Country”?

  5. Brendan Loy Says:

I’m not sure yet, but part IV will definitely involve whales.

    :)

  6. Brian Foster Says:

If so, then Part V will have to include Kerry’s half-brother, who takes positions and then sticks to them consistently. He’ll take away Teresa’s pain, and in turn she will entrust her family fortune to him, over Kerry’s objections, so that he can “steal” Massachusetts and navigate it to the political center, where he will attempt to free the Will of the People, but instead discover that the People are Bastards, and then have an epiphany in which he sacrifices himself to the People so that Kerry, Teresa, and Massachusetts can escape just in time.

And somehow there’s a Klingon involved.

I don’t know whats worse, the face that Brian wrote that, or the fact that i understand every single reference…

    LOL !

Brendan, I, too, would be curious to see your paper once you have submitted it, if you are willing to share it with a Resident Alien …

  9. Brendan Loy Says:

I will happily share it with the entire blog…unless I decide to try to get it published, in which case I may have to wait a while. :)
