Michigan State’s ice-hockey team upset #1-ranked Notre Dame in the regional final Saturday to earn a spot in the Frozen Four. For the Irish, the loss is a heartbreaking end to the best season in school history.
P.S. I *am* pleased that ND had such a breakthrough season this year. But the tone of the coverage in Friday’s Observer is ample proof that it doesn’t take much success for the patented ND hubris to infect any sport, even where it is historically woefully uncalled for . . . :)
