Boise State 28, Oklahoma 10, with 8:05 left in the third quarter.
I love it!!
UPDATE: Dammit. Just when I was starting to dream of a Boise blowout… a crucial, flukey turnover, and it’s 28-17.
UPDATE 2: Calm down, Broncos, calm down. Don’t lose your composure now. Yikes.
UPDATE 3: Dear Samsung: Your HDTV girl is really, really creepy. I’m going to have nightmares about her saying “it’s the mirrors.” The person who came up with the concept for those ads was clearly on drugs. Seriously. Creepy!!
Anyway, a crucial stand there, holding the Sooners to a field goal. So it’s 28-20. Now Boise needs some offense.
UPDATE 4: Absolute craziness, and it’s tied 28-28 with 1:26 to go.
C’mon Boise… don’t panic… you have time left… drive for the winning field goal! GO BRONCOS!
UPDATE 5: AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Oklahoma intercepts it, runs it in for a touchdown, and will apparently win in the most absolutely heartbreaking fashion imaginable for Boise State and its fans…
Sooners lead, 35-28 with 1:02 left. Boise State ball, two timeouts left.
UPDATE 6: YEESSSSS SSS S S SS sdnfgfkls[dhagpidfwkshtoiashjgdfjshgklajdfsbhgvkljasdHfaks OWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
UPDATE 7: Forgive me, dear readers, and excuse my French, but:
HOLY SHIT!!!!
Boise State ties the game with 7 seconds left with a touchdown on 4th and 19, featuring a LATERAL that kept the game alive! We’re going to overtime, baby!!!
UPDATE 8: Oklahoma scores a touchdown immediately, on a 25-yard run by Peterson. So it’s Boise ball. They need a touchdown to keep it going.

That turnover on the return is driving me crazy. I got my pulse down to below 180 with the 18 point lead, but it’s back up now.
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:11:52 am
That little girl inspired me to buy a 56″ 1080p DLP HDTV four days ago.
Leave her alone..she’s my hero.

January 2nd, 2007 at 12:22:47 am

I’m shocked OK did not go for 2 there…
Boise State gets the ball back now…
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:23:38 am

January 2nd, 2007 at 12:23:54 am
ESPN GameCast says OK just called time with 1:26 left…
Still listed as Boise leading 28-27…

January 2nd, 2007 at 12:24:54 am
ESPN GameCast’s data-entry person probably had a heart attack, just like I almost did.

January 2nd, 2007 at 12:36:38 am
So we’re all in agreement on 35-35!
YAY!! :)
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:36:48 am
That play was the most beautiful thing I have seen since 4th and 9.
Un. Be. Lievable.
The only thing missing was the Stanford Band.
Everyone else in the house is asleep. (Hence my constant commenting and blogging — I have no other way to express my emotions watching the game, as I don’t want to wake them up.) Fools. They’re missing the best game of the college-football season, bar none. The Ohio State-Michigan “classic” has nothing on this. This isn’t the “big dog” vs. the “underdog.” This is a heavyweight bout between two equals. It’s only fitting that it’s going to overtime.
GO BOISE!!!
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:38:27 am
I’m still basking in the glow of that beautiful play and you have to bring up 4th and 9? I may throw up in my mouth.
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:39:06 am
Heh. Sorry.
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:39:40 am
So much for basking. Touchdown Oklahoma. Dammit.
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:41:30 am
I haven’t had this many emotional swings since my last girlfriend.
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:45:49 am
if (if if if) Boise St scores…i say go for 2.
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:46:04 am
4th down and 2, 5 yard line (after a 1 yard loss on 3rd and 1). This is your game.
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:49:08 am
TD. Too damn hard to watch. Go Broncos, please!
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:49:09 am
Z goes in motion, other dude throws a TD.

Statue of liberty play… wow.
January 2nd, 2007 at 12:58:39 am
Holy crap… I wasn’t even going to watch this game, but damn if that wasn’t AMAZING. Two thumbs for beating the Sooners and for making me jump up and down like a little girl. wow
Fight on! and Go Boise State!
January 2nd, 2007 at 1:01:07 am
On top of everything else… Ian Johnson just proposed to his super-hot cheerleader girlfriend… during the post-game interview… does college football get any better than this?
January 2nd, 2007 at 1:01:32 am
This recalls nothing so much as undefeated Arizona State defeating Nebraska, 17-14, in the 1975 Fiesta Bowl.
That was the game that turned college football on its head, opened up the Pac-8 to the Arizona schools, put the Fiesta Bowl on the map, introduced a college football-watching country to an entire time zone, and inched us toward an opening-up of television contracts.
If, a dozen years from now, we eventually have an eight- or ten- or twelve-team playoff (and I doubt it, but I live in hope), this Fiesta Bowl will be mentioned as a major step forward.
I worship the Rose Bowl. But I love the Fiesta Bowl.
January 2nd, 2007 at 1:01:54 am
Technically, the Fox reporter proposed to Ian Johnson’s girlfriend. :)
January 2nd, 2007 at 1:03:58 am
Haha, yeah, nice one there Chris Myers.
January 2nd, 2007 at 3:14:42 am
What can you expect from the station that gives us various “When ____ attacks” ;-)
