Can anyone who was watching on TV confirm that the Rutgers game ended before the Cal game did? I was “watching” via cell phone so I'm not sure.

Pedicini leads pick ‘em contest

Colin Pedicini took sole possession of the lead in the 2nd annual Irish Trojan bowl pick ‘em contest as Oklahoma State beat Alabama on a last-second field goal, surviving a Crimson Tide comeback to win the Independence Bowl.

Pedicini is now 10-0 in predicting bowl results, tying the record for best start set last year by Mark Gardner, Darrin Bartley and Carl Lindecrantz.

If Texas A&M wins the Holiday Bowl and Rutgers wins the Texas Bowl, Pedicini will improve his perfect record to 12-0. If A&M wins but Kansas State upsets Rutgers, Pedicini will fall to 11-1 but will still be in sole possession of first place. If Cal and Rutgers win, Bill Reising will take sole possession of the lead. If Cal and Kansas State win, Reising will share first place with Chris Healey.

It’s Pedicini vs. Whelan in Independence Bowl

Either Colin Pedicini or David Whelan will take sole possession of the lead with a 10-0 prediction record in the Irish Trojan bowl pick ‘em contest, depending on the outcome of the Independence Bowl between Oklahoma State and Alabama, which is tied 7-7 at the beginning of the second quarter.

Pedicini picked Oklahoma State; Whelan picked Alabama. The two are currently tied for first place with 9-0 records after moving ahead of previous co-leaders Marty West (a.k.a. ironlionOROKU) and A.J. St. John when Florida State beat UCLA yesterday. West and St. John are now in a five-way tie at 8-1 with Joe McDade (Texasyank), Chris Healey and Bill Reising. 32 contestants, including defending champion Brian Dupuis (DUP), are tied at 7-2.

Irony, thy name is Golden State Fence

Heh:

A fence-building company in Southern California agrees to pay nearly $5 million in fines for hiring illegal immigrants. Two executives from the company may also serve jail time. The Golden State Fence Company’s work includes some of the border fence between San Diego and Mexico.
