I think some of you on the left are going to come to regret Sen. Webb in the next six years…maybe as much as we regretted Chafee or Specter on the right.
There’s no silver lining in this for the GOP
What?!!?? There’s a huge silver lining in here for the GOP. The Dems have two years to show us their awesome secret plan (that’s different from W’s) to handle Iraq. At the end of two years, the novelty will have worn off and a Repub will be a shoe-in for the Presidency.
This sums it up, IMO.
“The Republicans lost and the Democrats won for the same reason: They both ran against their base.
Saw that somewhere, but can’t remember who said it.

‘Some’ being the operative word.

Some being most. I’m thrilled that RINO Chafee’s finally gone.

Sorry, gahrie. There’s no silver lining in this for the GOP. Too bad for you.

Mad Max:
Oh I know. Frankly that’s OK with me. I am only a Republican by default.
It’s the fact that there is no silver lining for the Iraqi or American people that is bumming me out.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

Is Webb getting ready to put on his boots for the crap he’s going to have to walk through that is Capital Hill?
November 9th, 2006 at 10:16:45 pm
The boots belonged to his son who is currently serving in Iraq, Webb wore them throughout the campaign.

I think the winner is clearly the guy in the bottom photo.

And Webb’s not for an immediate pullout, as the majority of his “base” demands.
Must really suck to finally get what you want for Christmas, and then realize it’s not really as it was described.
