Brendan, i think its repulsive that you have such an obsession with Ned Lamont and his anti-Lieberman agenda, its all you blog about, Ned Lamont attacking Lieberman, Ned Lamont and his comments about how allowing gays to marry will destroy this country…oh…wait…wrong Brendan obsessed target, gosh there are so many i just can’t keep them straight! (or gay?)
Ummm, David? This was a joke. Did you not notice the winking smiley face at the end of the post? Or, how about the obvious, self-evident ridiculousness of claiming that Ned Lamont, Senate candidate from Connecticut would hack a Michigan Senate candidate’s website? You’re mad at me because of a previous argument, fine, but surely you can’t think I’m that ridiculous, that I would actually believe something so patently absurd.
Really, if you want to try and extrapolate a political agenda from this post, it would be anti-Lieberman, not anti-Lamont, since what I’m really satirizing is Lieberman’s claim that Lamont hacked his website on Primary Day. Now, in reality, my post doesn’t really have a political agenda… and I think Lieberman had some valid points on Primary Day, as well as some invalid ones… in reality, I’m just being silly here. But if this post had an agenda, that agenda would certainly not be anti-Lamont. You have to be pretty humorless to read this post and think I’m actually attacking Lamont.
P.S. Also, the title “I blame Ned Lamont” is very much in line with other attempts at humor on this blog over the years, like “I blame John Ashcroft” and “I blame Karl Rove.” Pretty much anytime I say “I blame ______,” without any attempt at justification for it, you should assume I’m not being serious.
P.S. Use a smiley face next time, will you? Some of us are too dense to recognize satire, even while we’re accusing other people of being too dense to recognize satire… :)
