NIT pool to be decided tonight
Posted by on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 6:23 pm

The NIT championship game tonight at 7pm, between South Carolina and Michigan, will decide the 2nd annual BrendanLoy.com NIT pool. Will it be a Trojan (Gary Kirby) or a Buckeye (Brad Miller)? Kirby, USC Class of 1987, wins if Michigan wins. Miller, an Ohio State grad and a Capital University law student, wins if South Carolina wins. Details here. Game on ESPN.

UPDATE: Things are looking good for Miller. South Carolina leads by 18 with 11:08 to go.

UPDATE 2: South Carolina wins the NIT, and Brad Miller wins the BrendanLoy.com NIT pool!

I’m going bowling now; full update later.

Congrats, Brad!

Can you imagine if South Carolina wins, and LSU and Florida go on to the NCAA tourney final? We’ll never hear the end of it from the SEC honks.

  2. DUP Says:

And you shouldn’t… after all the blasting of the SEC that you guys do on here…

Congratulations Brad. (Now where is that bottle of tequila?)

I never blasted SEC basketball, just football. I think the SEC was definitely better than the ACC, Big [Eleven], Pac-10, or Big 12 this year. I figured the Big East was the best, but if it plays out with Florida and LSU in the final, I think we’ll definitely have to consider the SEC as having had the top conference in basketball this year.
