The NHC has issued the final advisory on Tropical Depression Zeta. As of 4pm EST on Jan. 6, 2006, the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season, the busiest and costliest ever, is finally over. Appropriately enough, it is the latest ending ever. Happy New Year. :)

Damn, I am impressed with how (relatively) good this cell-phone photo post looks. Becky and I were at the Maui aquarium when this happened, and, although I’ve generally been good (it being our honeymoon and all) about not checking my cell phone every five seconds, I did feel the need to post this news. But rather than posting it alongside an irrelevant photo, I wanted to post a picture of the advisory, which was displayed on my cell phone — but of course, my cell-phone camera can’t take a picture of its own screen. So I had the brainstorm of taking a picture of my cell phone screen with my digital camera, then taking a picture of the digital camera’s screen (displaying the picture of the cell phone’s screen) with my cell phone. So what you’re looking at is actually a picture of a picture of a cell-phone readout of an NHC advisory, taken at an aquarium in a tropical paradise during my honeymoon. I am such a friggin’ nerd, I love it! :)
