Quinn not invited to Heisman ceremony
Posted by on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 9:41 pm

A new look for the Heisman Trophy? Heh.

The Reggie Bush Heisman Trophy Coronation Ceremony will have just two onlookers — Vince Young and Matt Leinart — not three, as many had expected. Brady Quinn will not go to New York; apparently he did not receive enough votes to merit an invitation.

I’m mildly, but not overwhelmingly, surprised. Given what I’ve read about virtually unprecedented “lock-step voting” — Bush #1, Young #2, Leinart #3, on almost every ballot — it’s not surprising that Quinn, who would be lots of people’s #4 choice if there was a #4 slot, didn’t get as many votes as some had expected.

Better luck next year, Brady.

Incidentally, StiffArmTrophy.com — whose collection of real Heisman votes by real Heisman voters shows ample evidence of this “lock-step voting” phenomenon — has formally projected the race for Reggie Bush. “The only question remaining is whether he’s the biggest winner ever.”

Alexis and Nathan of From The Sidelines (from which I stole borrowed the above photo of the “new Heisman design”) will be liveblogging from NYC starting tomorrow.

No complaint here…the way I see it, we all know he’d come in 4th. This gives us (him) motivation to come back next year as prepared as ever, and also is one less distraction leading up to the Party Bowl (we’re in America, so we must speak American).

PS - yes, that last part was a joke.

The only problem is he will not be invited, either. Got to laugh! he’d have a much better chance being a Trojan.

By the way. This new replica of the Heisman design looks more realistic. As I commented before in another blog: Reminds me of Tommy Trojan and defies all biological definition of what the human body can do all at the same time.

Why waste the air fare when you know Brady has got no chance. they might as well spend more time praising the best player (BUSH) alot more!

    LOL

Are those Reggie Bush trophies for sale on EBAY yet?

That Alexis Jones is one hot chick!
