Our wedding day
Posted by on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 12:00 am

Today’s the day!!

Becky’s and my wedding and reception are from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM Arizona time (6:00-11:30 EST), and my friend Dan Seremet will be periodically uploading cell-phone photo posts, as he did yesterday during the rehearsal (see here, here, here and here). So, stay tuned to my homepage for live coverage — or, as I titled my e-mail to InstaPundit, “Blogger blogs own wedding.” :)

In the mean time, here’s my (newly updated) video tribute to Becky, set to the tune of Lonestar’s “Amazed.” Enjoy!

(Give it a few seconds to start after you press the “play” button. It’s a large file.)

We’ll have a formal, physical guestbook at Gold Canyon, of course, but y’all can consider this post a sort of virtual guestbook… so if you have anything (nice) that you’d like to say to me and/or Becky, please leave it in comments!

P.S. Initial photo galleries of the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, and of generally hanging out at the resort, can be found here. There will be many more photos to come, of course.

    Brendan & Becky,

As is somehow fitting for your wedding day, the National Hurricane Center posted the following at 11:00 EST:

SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATES THAT AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IN THE EASTERN ATLANTIC HAS DEVELOPED INTO A ROPICAL STORM ABOUT 1000 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF THE AZORES. A SPECIAL ADVISORY ON TROPICAL STORM ZETA IS IN PREPARATION AND WILL BE ISSUED IN AN HOUR OR SO.

A final tribute to you from the 2005 Atlantic Hurricane Season!

Best wishes for a long and happy life together.

  11. Milan Says:

  16. Mike Says:

Congratulations to you both. You look as though you make each other very happy. I wish you the best of luck as you start your life together. The video tribute was positively moving. I hope that someday I find that special someone like you did. Congrats, again!

  17. Alex Nunez Says:

Congrats guys! Best of luck to ya.

  18. Jane Says:

That was about the best thing I have seen this year. Your happiness reached right through the screen and had me clapping and teary eyed. Despite that you both look about 12 years old to me, I wish you many many years of the kind of joy I just witness.

    Cheers!

  19. SCJ Says:

    Goodluck and Fight On!

  20. AB Says:

    Best of luck to you.

  21. Leigh Says:

ìMay heaven grant you in all things your heartís desire, husband, house and a happy peaceful home for there is nothing better in the world than that man and wife should be of one mind in a house. It discomfits their enemies, makes the hearts of their friends glad, and they themselves know more about it than anyone.î -Odyssey

I don’t even know you, but your video made me cry. It reminded me of one my hubby made for me when we were dating. God bless!

  22. David Hardy Says:

Congrats and best of luck, and glad you can have it here in Arizona!

Fortunately, the contributions of other bloggers have enabled me to hire the one absolute requirement … a pregnant actress to approach you in tears at the reception, blubbering “Just remember, if you ever decide to leave … that woman … little Brendan and I will be waiting.”

  23. David Hardy Says:

On a more serious note, things to do in Phoenix (spent some time there as a kid and later, tho much prefer my home in Tucson) while you’re suffering from the windchill of 75…

Heard Indian Museum. Pretty nice, in central Phoenix.

Hike at any mountain around there. i went to south mountain as a kid.

Head up north to “Montezuma’s Castle,” a prehistoric cliff dwelling, well preserved. I took my late first wife there, 23 years ago.

Prob. too far, but Meteor Crater and Grand Canyon are up north, couple of hours’ drive.

  24. Maggie45 Says:

Congratulations Brendan and Becky!! One of my sisters got married at Gold Canyon 20 years ago, right as the sun was going down. Beautiful place. I’m on dial-up here at home, so will wait til tomorrow when I’ll have access to high speed to watch the video and look at all the pics. I live about 200 miles southeast of you down here in Bisbee. If you ever decide to do some sight seeing down here give me a holler and I’ll show you around. Weather is a lot different from Phoenix area, where I used to live.

  25. Keri Says:

Congratulations & Best Wishes to the both of ya’s =o) I wish we could have been there, but as it is, if there’s a wedding to miss it’s the wedding of an addicted blogger. My heart smiles for you both, and my husband was repeatedly confused as I’d turn to him and say “they’re getting married today!”

May God bless the new family you have become, cradling you in His loving hands throughout all life has in store for you.

  26. Sissy Willis Says:

After 30 plus years navigating the bumpy road to love — we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary last February:

My romance doesn’t need a thing but you

. . . sigh . . . I am reduced to tears of joy at your visual poem to your sweetheart. :)

  27. Sissy Willis Says:

    . . . 32nd, that is . . . the mind grows weak, but the spirit burns bright . . .

  28. Kat Says:

Congratulations Brendan! ..also, that is just about the sweetest video I’ve ever seen…

  29. bizi Says:
