I am an undergrad at ND and I started my progression to your site when Patrick Roach began posting on liberal facebook groups dissing john kerry and calling anyone who supported him or Democratic groups “baby killers.” I read his blog often to see his arguments in the same way that I read Fox News every day–to see the far right’s arguments in a self-torturous manner. After Patrick closed his blog, I bookmarked yours and have visited it quite often to try to get a more moderate view of the news and to entertain myself as well.
I am a future law student, although hoping to go to school in a more liberal enviroment in the West, but I have enjoyed getting news from your site as well as gaining insight on what it is like to be a law student in an intensive program. In this way, and even though I have never met you or your fiancee, I feel like I have gained a knowledgae on what goes on in law school in both an intellectual way as well as a personal way.
I wish you and Becky the best of luck in your marriage and hope your law career is refective of the deep commitment you have put into your blog…Best of luck to you in your career and your future.
And if Patrick is reading this I wish him the best of luck too–just because we disagree on fundamental issues doesn’t mean that I don’t value your opinion or have the same high hopes for your future that I do Brendan’s.
Congrats Brendan- Marriage can be a wonderful thing, it is the best thing in my life. You and Becky seem like you have a great future together ahead of you. :)
Been quite a year for you, survive 1L year, land a job, become a mini celebrity, etc. I think marriage to your college sweatheart seems like the perfect way to cap it all off.
As someone who has seen this love affair from its infinitely interesting start (you know what I’m talking about) to now, I can only say how happy I am for you both and how wonderful I think you both are. You deserve all the happiness in the world and I love you both.

As a wise man once said, marriage is an institution and who wants to spend their life in an institution.
Nyuk nyuk.
Happy day for you guys!

Marriage leads to a greater understanding of things. For example, while I still have no concept of divorce, I now understand homicide….
just kidding…
