LaPorte, IN resident Jeff Ake, the owner of Equipment Express in Rolling Prairie, has been abducted by terrorists in Iraq, putting “the war right in our front yard.”
Ake was in Iraq to “construct integrated systems that will provide water bottles to be sold in Baghdad as part of the rebuilding effort,” according to the LaPorte Herald-Argus. His company also “made a system that filled containers with cooking oil that would be used by Iraqis,” according to the South Bend Tribune.
Members of the local community are keeping Jeff and his family in their thoughts and prayers. There will be a candlelight vigil today (Friday) at 7:00 PM at Fox Memorial Park in LaPorte (map).

Further proof that all these terrorist thugs want is for Iraq to fail. The man was building a water system for Iraqis!
I will pray for him and his family.

Yes, those terrorists are savages with nothing to offer this world but their demise.
How about the coincidence that he’s wearing the same shirt in each picture? I mean, it looks like the picture on the left was taken right before he was kidnapped! (I know it wasn’t, but it gives you the impression)

This is my home town. The family is very well known and liked. I was there yesterday and there are signs everywhere expressing prayers for the Ake family. CBS is there, and they are out of control with trying to get information about the story. They actually went into the high school (where one of Ake’s four children attends) without permission and tried to interview my sister and her friends during cheerleading tryouts. My family lives in the house where a relative of Jeff’s used to live and CBS has called like five times in the past day. The whole thing is a very sad story, and quite a scary thing for my little town.

This is so sad. Why can’t the media get out of the family’s face and just let them be in peace? And what kind of information do they think they’re gonna get? Everyone is sad and scared; like we need them to tell us that. I’m certainly praying for them, as I’m sure everyone is.
