The mystery is solved! I should have put 2 and 2 together and figured this one out, but alas, it took an e-mail from Kristy to clear things up:
you nerd … My boyfriend’s mother won your pool!!!
:-)
FYI, my Eddie is Edward Charles Domaingue III, his father, who entered your pool, is the II. And yes, his mother was an alderman once-upon-a-time, and his father is managing editor of the Union Leader.
LOL! So I do know the Domaingues personally… sort of. I met them for like 30 seconds, two and a half years ago.
On a related note, Kristy was at a hip Oscar party last night with Eddie. Here’s an article about it from the Union Leader.

Congrats — I was pretty far down the list. As is the case most years, I had only seen a few of the movies.
That’s what Blockbuster is for, I suppose. :)

can I just say that I HATE the expression “finger food”? I feel like it suggests that people are eating fingers and it grosses me out everytime I think about it. All I can picture are little Asian kids running around without fingers while some fat, slimey white guy nibbled on pigs in a blanket–made with wee one’s fingers. EW!

Beware, Mrs. Domaingue is also the Trivial Pursuit Silver Screen Edition Champion of the World.

To clear up any confusion, i want to come clean about being a “random internet visitor.” I read your site from time to time and enjoy it. The pool was fun and well-run…i’ll be back next year.

Hey Brendan…
What’s that now famous song,
“Kristy’s boyfriend’s Mom has got it goin’ on”…?
Thanks for the interesting BLOG…and the congrats…it’s a tough job being the first of the “first annual”, but hey…someone had to do it. And to think I haven’t seen a single one of the pictures.(honestly, haven’t seen a one of them…sorry, Hillary and Clint!) Brendan, you did a great job doing your Google homework… thanks again, for the fun of it all. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go nurse my Oscar night hangover….
Kudos to you, Brendan…you’re the best!
