Although they came out on top against #3 Oklahoma State earlier this week, a second game decided by a razor-thin margin ended in a loss for those perennial Brendan Loy favorites, the Gonzaga Bulldogs. While I certainly didn’t want the Zags to lose to Mizzou, this loss does appear to, at least slightly, vindicate my earlier reluctance to participate in the Bulldog love fest. :)

To echo Brendan in a less homer-ish way, top ten rankings midway through the season are relatively unimportant. What’s important is these games are doing wonders for Gonzaga’s RPI, ensuring them a better seed in the tournament than they’d otherwise receive, and making them more battle-tested for later on in the season, where every game is do-or-die.
