Apocalypse on Friday the 13th?

A newly discovered, quarter-mile-wide asteroid has a 0.33% chance of hitting Earth on Friday, April 13, 2029, according to a NASA scientist.

But “the perceived risk probably will be eliminated once astronomers get more detail about its orbit.” Or so they say. On the other hand, we’re talking about Friday the 13th, people. If there’s ever a day when that 1-in-300 chance would go the wrong way…
