President Sample and High Emperor Carroll,
I regret to inform you that Phase 1 of Operation Trojan Horse was unsuccessful. I was unable to secure a position as a representative on the Notre Dame Law School Honor Council. (I suspect Bruin influence in the election.)
This setback means that my original plan to conquer the Law School for Troy — expelling students for “Honor Code violations” if they refuse to submit to Trojan dominance — cannot go forward.
But do not despair! Plan B is already underway. I have applied to administer the Student Bar Association’s website, and I believe I will successfully attain this position. What I hoped to accomplish through judicial power, I will instead accomplish with clever propaganda. Soon these fools will forget their “Domer” brainwashing and will be transformed into a loyal Trojan army. Then, from our strategic position in the center of the quad, we will march on the campus at large, and conquer it all!
Notre Dame will be ours! The Golden Dome will be painted cardinal by Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Brendan Loy, Servant of Troy
:)
P.S. On a more serious note, here are the results…
Honor Council
Brian Foster–51 votes
Kevin Moot–38 votes
Ryan Bradel–28 votes
Class Representative
Dmytro Aponte–45 votes
Heather Cameron–38 votes
Patrick Salvi & Jeanine Valles–34 votes (runoff election to be held next week)
Congrats to the winners!
P.P.S. Here are a couple of campaign signs posted earlier this week by the runoff contestants:
Dmytro had the funniest signs, including this one:
Honor Council candidates weren’t allowed to put up signs, but I was hoping for a sort of coattails effect from these 1L rep candidates’ signs:
Hehe. :) Oh, well.
More election sign pics here.

Niiiiiice. ;-)
“What I hoped to accomplish through judicial power, I will instead accomplish with clever propaganda.”
Sounds like the exact opposite of the liberal mantra, which appears to be, “What I hoped to accomplish through persuading and mobilizing a democratic majority (i.e., “clever propaganda”), I will not institute by judicial fiat, thanks to my activist judge friends.” :-P

Dammit! World domination is just not as easy as one would think!

Heh. :)
By the way, to the anonymous 1L who posted a nasty comment about my ethics this morning, feel free to post it again if you so desire. I didn’t delete it to censor its content, I only deleted it because the election was still in progress at that point, and I had been instructed by the elections commissioner that there should be “no mention” of the election on my website. Plus, it didn’t seem fair that you should be able to attack my ethics but I should not be able to respond (because I was not allowed to campaign). Now that the election is over, however, all bets are off, so do as you please.

You have ethics Brendan? Just kidding. Probably the same one who had problems with your humility. Man if he doesn’t like you why does he keep reading the site? Honestly.
Second comment. No Hurricane Jeanine comments about the one sign? Brendan you are losing your touch…

You got me. I certainly don’t spend my time reading people’s website if I think they are unethical and arrogant.
Here’s what he wrote about my ethics, for those who may be curious:
“Isn’t it strange that just a few weeks ago you were flaunting the fact that you were going to violate Du Lac’s prohibition on sex between unmarried students and this week you’re running for honor council touting your strong ethics and rule-following? What honor code rules will you violate or neglect to enforce because you don’t agree with them?”
Needless to say, the point is irrelevant and silly, since the Honor Council has nothing to do with enforcing universitywide moral codes and everything to do with enforcing the Law School Honor Code, which relates primarily to academic misdeeds (cheating, lying, etc.) and not at all to sexual indiscretions.

Oh, and I never touted my strong “rule-following.” I did briefly tout my ethics in my campaign letter, as well as, more emphatically, my ability to be fair and impartial. (”I have always prided myself on being ethical— not lying, cheating or stealing, as the Code says—and on being fair.” etc. etc.) I didn’t say anything that bears in any way on private sexual conduct, nor did I say anything like “I have always strictly followed every single rule to which I have been subject”… so the implicit accusation of false advertising is also false.
I leave it to y’all to decide whether it would be unethical to violate (hypothetically of course) the section of Du Lac that says I’m not allowed to engage in “sexual union” with my fiancee, on campus or off, indeed anywhere in the known universe, while I’m a Notre Dame student.
