Rasmussen Reports’s three-day polling average for Aug. 30-Sept. 1 shows a four-point net bounce for Bush as compared to the Aug. 29-31 average!
From a 47%-47% tie, Bush jumped out to a 49%-45% lead literally overnight — and remember, two-thirds of the data is identical, so the entire difference comes from replacing the Aug. 29 data with the Sept. 1 data. That suggests that yesterday’s polling, by itself, was a huge improvement over the preceding days.
Yesterday, of course, was the first day of polling after Arnold’s speech.
Sounds like I was right. Ah-nold may just have won Bush the election.
Presumably Bush’s lead in the Rasmussen poll, now four points, will increase even more in the next couple of days. It will be most interesting to watch.
