We’ve just arrived at South Bend.

We’re 10 or 15 minutes from South Bend. Here are Barb and her boyfriend, who are on this train heading for Chicago, where Barb will visit a grad school. Small world!

It was a great game and great series and a great season. Grady Little should be fired, but the rest of the team has my praise and affection. Thanks for the memories and, as they say, Maybe Next Year. And now I am going to try to get some sleep.

I actually missed the winning play because I was walking through the train looking for Becky’s friend Barb — who is RANDOMLY on this same train — and I didn’t even realize the inning had started. I looked at my TV and, voila, the Yanks were celebrating.

Damn Yankees.

This game is going to be talked about for decades, whichever way it turns out. Two out, top of the eleventh, still tied. We just left Buffalo — here is a picture of a picture of me, Vikki, and a very washed-out Bridget.

I am hereby renaming the Curse of the Bambino as the Curse of Grady Little. We escaped with it still tied, but now it feels like just a matter of time until the heartbreak becomes official. … But wait! A hit! Go Sox!

Yankees just tied it 5-5. That was the most absurd thing I have ever seen. Is Grady Little being paid off? Fire him now. I mean NOW. Bring in a new manager for the ninth. Jesus.
