The view from the Staten Island Ferry is incredible. This doesn’t even begin to capture it.

I’m making a round trip on the Staten Island ferry, to take in the view. Stay tuned for new Tribute in Light photos momentarily.

Okay, I walked a little north, and now I can see two distinct beams. Very beautiful.

I guess they just look like one beam from this angle. They’re getting more distinct now, as the sky gets darker.

Still no spotlights yet, but beautiful scene. Also, check out the Empire State Building in red, white, and blue at www.brendanloy.com/webcam.html.

A ton of people (this is only about one-third of them) have gathered on the steps of Brooks Brothers, across Church Street from Ground Zero, waiting for the Tribute in Light to begin. I think I’ll join them.
