No, Mr. Ashcroft, it’s just a camera-phone, honest

This sucks.

But dammit, I will not be deterred from bringing 26 cameras and 19 computerized devices on every flight I take. That would be letting the terrorists win! :)

News flash from Mesa, Arizona: Becky got two new kittens!!!

Their names are Butter and Lynx. Both are girls, like Toby. I just talked on the phone with Becky, who reported that Butter and Toby are chasing each other around the house, while Lynx remains shyly in her cage for the moment.

This means Toby will eventually have to start sharing not only territory, but her blog. For now, the blog is virtually out of commission anyway, since Becky and the cats won’t have an Internet connection at their new Mesa home until Becky gets phone service on Aug. 11. But later in the month, I’m sure things will get interesting over in that corner of the cat-blogosphere.

Becky is thinking about buying herself a digital camera, in which case perhaps I’ll have some pictures of Butter and Lynx to post before long.

Red Sox win! (Thank goodness, because so did the Yankees. And the A’s. Darn it.)

Carson City, Ohio

The Cincinnati Bengals’ new quarterback, USC graduate and Heisman Trophy winner Carson Palmer, got creamed in a scrimmage against his own team’s first-string defenders Saturday.

This Sunday, here in New York (well, New Jersey, really), he gets to try his hand against the Jets. It’s a preseason game, but it will be televised on CBS 2 here, and I plan to watch. Go, Carson, go!

Factoid of the day

There are more insects in one square mile of rural land than there are people on the planet Earth, according to some radio broadcast that Becky and I heard during our Buffalo-to-Phoenix road trip.

By the way, I will be posting my final summary of that road trip, complete with lots of photos and even a Top Ten list, one of these days. Let us just say “sometime.” :)
