On Saturday, September 7, 2002, between 5:10 PM and 5:30 PM, at least three unidentified flying objects were sighted in the sky north of USC’s campus. Click here for more details, and MPEG movies of the UFOs!

The hot sun beats down on Becky’s beautiful smiling face at the Coliseum during the USC football team’s Labor Day opener against Auburn. Temperatures were in the mid-90s that day. USC was hot, too (ha, ha), winning the game 24-17. To view a photo of the marching band in formation as a map of the United States, click here.

Becky, Toby and I share a smile (well, Toby would be smiling for the camera, but she’s busy watching a bird) at a rest stop in Michigan during our recent cross-country road trip. Click here for more photos from the road trip! Oh, and if you’re wondering about my hair: Becky gave me a buzz-cut just before we left for the road trip. It’s a bit longer now… though recently she’s been threatening to cut it again… :)

Becky and three of her best friends — from left, Barb, Vikki and Kristy — pose for a farewell photo on August 6, less than 12 hours before Becky and I hit the road for Los Angeles.

My Uncle Scott stands in front of his family’s cabin in Adirondack Park. I visited Scott, Aunt Carol, and my cousins Alexis, Charis and Garrett on August 4 and 5, before returning to Buffalo to hit the road for Los Angeles. Click here for more pictures of my visit with the “Floomers”!

My parents wave goodbye on August 3 as my Greyhound bus pulls away from the station, taking me to Buffalo, the first stage of my trip back west to California for my senior year in college.

My parents are seen through a ball of glass disorting their images at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York, on August 3. Click here for more photos of our family trip to Corning!

This bumper-sticker, seen in rural New York state, speaks for itself. :)

Four members of Jen’s large monkey collection — almost all given to her by me for various Christmases, birthdays, etc. — stand on top of her computer screen, guarding her room from the bogey man and the “sniper monkeys.” On the screen is a wallpaper image of me giving Jen’s cousin Caitlin a piggyback ride.

My friend Sean Vivier says “boo-yeah” after defeating me in miniature golf on July 28 at Safari Golf on the Berlin Turnpike. I choked, missing an easy putt at the 18th hole that would have won the match, and then losing by three strokes in a one-hole “playoff.” (We repeated the 18th.) But one day later, playing against a different cast of characters (my honorary sister Kimberly Stone and two of her friends) in a different location (Old Saybrook), I played the best mini-golf round of my life, scoring 3 under par and finishing with seven consecutive 2s. I won by 7 strokes. Click here for the scorecard.

A frog pokes his nose above the muck and mire at the 1860 Reservoir in Wethersfield during a family fishing expedition on July 27. I caught two bluegills; my dad caught a bass; my mom caught nothing, but adeptly alerted us to the presence of two slugs who were walking across a rock nearby.

Becky’s best friend Kristy and I play a unique version of miniature golf — “mini golf wars” — that Kristy and Becky invented on June 29. The way the game works is, all three players hit their balls at the same time, all three balls are in play simultaneously, and the first player to get his or her ball into the hole wins. Hitting your opponent’s ball away from the hole is legal. Click here for more pictures of my week in Buffalo, including more mini golf pics!
