The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that the train had stopped. The second thing was the rising moon.

The third thing I noticed was the flashing lights of the emergency vehicles, a little ways ahead along the tracks. An ambulance and several firetrucks and police cars would drive by.

About 10 minutes before the train finally started moving again, the sun lights up these fields on the north side of the track, away from the road.

After showing "0.0 mph" as our speed all morning, my GPS receiver shows that we are indeed moving again.
