How you know Brendan / How you found this pool: The legend of the Loy - Todd family story dates back beyond the pre civil war era. In what was known by the keenest of historians as the true Hatfields & McCoys, the Loy's & Todd's began their rivalry when Jebidiah Loy wagered with Richmond Todd (also known as R. Todd) that the great Loy family chicken, affectionately known as Beaker, could lay more eggs than Todd's chicken, Count Eggsula. Little did they know that the enitre village would partake in this wager, thus becoming, yes you guessed it, the world's first office pool. From those humble beginnings to the NCAA men's baskeball pool of 2 Thousand Ought Five, generations of Loy's and Todd's throughout American history have wagered on pressing societal issues of the time such as in what year man would finally land on the moon and predicting what the overall effect of the hit television program Chalres in Charge would have on the economy in the 1990's. The legend, and the rivalry, continues to grow today.
