Wiser, a western New York native, will win The Living Room Times's fourth NCAA women's basketball pool if Purdue defeats Notre Dame in today's national championship game. The Boilermakers were up by as much as 16-5, an 11-point margin, during the first half. If they maintain their lead, Wiser will maintain his -- and will win the pool by 15 points over Providence College sophomore Todd Stigliano. Wiser met pool administrator Brendan Loy, a fellow USC sophomore and a Newington High graduate, at college. Todd Stigliano, who will win the pool if Notre Dame wins, was in Loy's high-school class. Past champions of Times pools have included one Newington High School teacher and seven members of the NHS Class of 1999. Another 1999 NHS graduate, either Kevin Hauschulz or Jenn Castelhano, will win the men's pool when tomorrow's championship game concludes.
