    Accepting the validity of the poll for the sake of argument:

    What about Congressional Republicans versus Congressional Democrats?

    You also left out an important fact:

    Meanwhile, the gap between President Obama and Congressional Republicans on who is more trusted for economic solutions has narrowed to five points, 42% for the President versus 37% for Republicans in Congress.

    (emphasis mine)

    So the numbers are continuing to worsen for Pres. Obama.

    Kind of changes the whole meaning of the poll from one of optimism to a cause for pessimism.
