You know, these lists are pretty warmed over by now, what with People and US Weekly and Truckers International all doing such lists, but there may be a bit of intrigue in this particular one. Does getting one's SAG card rank ahead of The Get the Hell out post? The wedding has to beat Tucker Carlson, but does the law degree? All very intriguing.

That said, its a bit disappointing to find a decade-end list here at the time when the unwashed masses think the decade is ending, though the true-blue nerd knows the decade has 12 months yet to go...

Sap.

NONONO :) Vurragood. Keep 'em coming. Look forward. :}

"For one thing, graduation was the first time our parents met each other..."

Well ~ technically, no. We had all "met" four years earlier at that USC pre-orientation thingie in Newark (!! :). But yeah, for your purposes here that doesn't Count: back then, What did We know? ;]

"...when, God willing, I sit on my porch as an old man and reflect on the 'good old days.' Ah, to be young again — to be back in the aughts!"

Waw haw haw! ;> Yeah. / And don't forget to include the old-man's mantra, that consistent cultural creed which binds together all human societies down through the long generations: "WHAT's the matter with KIDS tooo-Day!"

Don't worry about sappiness. I'm a sucker for sappy and thought this post was fine.

But I will admit, the little asides in the start of your countdown plus the news that my younger sister might be engaged by the beginning of 2010 is - well, "sobering" is the wrong word but probably the most optimistic option.
