Good headline (because, bound to grab My attention :) ; mildly interesting article.
Like his chief intellectual validator Wm F Buckley Jr (indeed, perhaps even More so than Chairman Bill :), Ol’ Barry did swim mostly with the Libertarian current of the American conservatism of the early 1960’s (my Era :), as distinct from what was then thought of as the Traditionalist (aka Prescriptive / Burkean / RussellKirkian / etc) stream.
Unfortunately, over time the (venerable) Latter philosophical flow saw its natural course artificially diverted, by the godly corps of engineers from our own native Guardian Councils & Revolutionary Guards & Basij — into a concrete-bounded tidal Bore which, having briefly attained its Crest in November 2004, nowadays seeps uselessly out across the vast semitropical mudflats of the fever-ridden TheoCon Delta.
