February 3rd, 2005 at 5:04:47 pm

February 3rd, 2005 at 5:05:57 pm
Actually, that kiss bought him a yes vote on Gonzales.

congragulations to you Democrates …
You have won a preasios kiss from a great ASS..
February 4th, 2005 at 11:54:07 am
Sorry, I have to disagree with calling Joe Lieberman a “mensch”, as I don’t see him as a person of great character or integrity.
February 4th, 2005 at 12:16:03 pm
It’s amazing and distressing how many of you lefties seem to honestly think that “disagrees with me” equals “lack of character and integrity.” I’ve been reading some of the comments about Lieberman over on Daily Kos, and they make me sick. And I say this as a fellow Bush-hating (well, Bush-disliking, anyway) Democrat. You people are pathetic. If you had 10 percent of the character and integrity that Joe Lieberman has, you’d be the better for it.

Brendan, for one thing, Bullshit and for another thing, Bullshit.
You aren’t a Bush hating Dem, you lie like a Republican.
And I don’t think that anyone who disagrees with me lacks character and integrity, I think Republicans lack character and integrity. I think Lieberwhore is a Republican and I also think that people who support Bush and believe his lies are complete and utter clueless morons. If that is too strong for you, take your Republican ass over to freeperville. We don’t need you here.
February 4th, 2005 at 1:27:45 pm
Thank you, Erica, for proving my point far better than I could ever possibly hope to.
I love how you’re so unbelievably arrogant that you’re telling ME what MY party is. “You aren’t a Bush hating Dem”? That’s great. So what you’re really saying is, “My narrow-minded worldview cannot grapple with the possibility that there is anyone in this world like you — therefore, you must be lying.” Wow.
I don’t think that anyone who disagrees with me lacks character and integrity, I think Republicans lack character and integrity.
And the difference is…?
You realize there are like 60 million Republicans in this country, right? You’re saying THEY ALL LACK CHARACTER AND INTEGRITY? And you’re trying to pass that off as a logical, rational viewpoint?
If the Democratic Party ever achieves success again, it will do so without people like you. If, on the other hand, people like you remain comfortable in the Democratic Party, the party will inevitably and permanently fail, and I’ll be finding myself a new party (or perhaps just becoming an independent).
Go to hell, Erica, and enjoy your status as a member of a permanent political minority. You richly deserve it.
February 4th, 2005 at 1:30:47 pm
P.S. Oh, and did I mention, you’re delusional, too. “We don’t need you here”? News flash: YES, YOU DO. You cannot win elections without moderates like me. Far-left liberals like you make up 5%, maybe 10% of the electorate. Perhaps 15%, if you’re really lucky. Now, I don’t know if you’ve ever taken a civics or math course, but let me clue you in: that’s not enough to win an election. Thus, you desperately need me. I, on the other hand, have no use whatsoever for you.

I’m originally from CT, and it’s sad that Lieberman is one of our senators. I agree with Brendan that it’s not very constructive to call him names, but I do wonder, why is Lieberman a Democrat today? He cheered on the war in Iraq, he seems to be all for expansion of the War on Terror, against affirmative action, gave a glowing endorsement of Condoleezza Rice, etc.
Let’s see where the Dems go if Dean does become the new chair of the DNC (Hooray!). We’ll have Dean and Lieberman under the big tent.
February 4th, 2005 at 3:22:49 pm
I’m from Connecticut too, and I’m immensely proud that Lieberman is one of our senators. Like him, I am a loyal Democrat who supported the war in Iraq because I believed (and still believe) that it was the right thing to do — though my set of reasons for invading was someone different than Bush’s, I nevertheless believe it was the right decision. However, like Lieberman, I believe Bush has screwed up in various ways. These are not mutually exclusive positions. Moreover, “expansion of the War on Terror” is clearly necessary if/when the threat expands… and clearly not necessary if/when it doesn’t… so I’m not sure what you mean, but I generally think Lieberman has the right attitude. Contrary to popular belief, defending America from legitimate threats is not antithetical to what it means to be a Democrat… and spreading freedom around the world is EXTREMELY consistent with liberalism. (Hello, wasn’t getting rid of the Taliban a pet liberal/feminist cause, UNTIL Bush invaded?) As for affirmative action, no less a Democrat than President Clinton said “mend, not end” … isn’t that essentially Lieberman’s position as well? Finally, a “glowing endorsement of Condoleezza Rice” … well, I don’t know exactly what Lieberman said about Rice, but I doubt it could have been much more “glowing” than what Dianne Feinstein said in introducing Rice. Do you consider it “sad” that she’s on of California’s senators?
Anyway, I agree that it’s great to have a party which can hold both Dean and Lieberman under the big tent. I think both of them have a lot to offer. Unfortunately, I think many of Dean’s supporters are dead weight holding the party down and even dragging it backwards. (I’m talking primarily about the people for whom the choice was not Dean vs. Kerry or Dean vs. Lieberman, but Dean vs. Kucinich or Dean vs. Nader.)

Odd, Bush lost the popular vote in 2000 to an extremely uninspiring Al Gore, and John Kerry (a total uninspiring log) was the second-most-voted-for presidential candidate in history.
Who’s on the ropes?

Hey Brendan, when was the last time you visited a shrink…Lucky u..immune from brain fever etc for ever..
Before you give the crap on spraeding freedom and all, please tell us in 2 sentences why we invaded Iraq..
Iraq is Bush’s, and Halliburton’s war.. that 350 billion and furiously counting could have saved hundreds of kids lives, given them medical, food etc
February 7th, 2005 at 4:34:49 am
Hey there swollen dick. Nice going, you’re really doing a good job of making the left seem credible, going around and calling your opponents crazy. That’s the sort of thing that will win you lots of elections. Yup, telling your fellow Democrats (I voted for Gore and Kerry) who happen to disagree with you about the war that they have brain fever, that’s an EXCELLENT strategy.
I’m not going to bother to explain to you my reasons for supporting the war, because you’re obviously far too closed-minded to care. I will say, however, that the 350 $billion HAS saved hundreds of kids’ lives… it just happens that they’re Iraqi kids who would have been killed by Saddam Hussein over the years/decades if he had stayed in power. I know you’ll counter that “U.S. bombs have killed X number of Iraqi civilians”… but the fact is that Saddam killed countless more, and would have continued to kill countless more, had he remained in power. Inaction has consequences too.
