I’m afraid Saturday morning’s ESPN GameDay is going to be rather anticlimactic. The big moment each week on GameDay is, of course, when Kirk and Corso make their predictions for the “host” game — but Kirk is doing color commentary for ABC’s broadcast of the OSU-Michigan game, so he won’t be able to make a prediction… and, meanwhile, Corso’s ever-insipid “analysis” has already pretty much telegraphed the fact that, in keeping with his usual pattern of picking the home team (last year’s USC-ND game notwithstanding), he’s going to be wearing Brutus Buckeye headgear for the second time this season:
So really, there’s no suspense. Corso, the know-nothing clown, picks Ohio State. Kirk, the serious analyst, doesn’t make a pick. Which is a pity: I’d have been really interested in seeing who he would have picked. I get the sense that he’s leaning ever-so-slightly toward Michigan, but it’s hard to say for sure.
My prediction: Michigan 28, Ohio State 24.

I don’t think there will be as many points scored as you project, but I think Michigan will win.

Didn’t Herbstreit go half-nuts last week and say Ohio St. would kill them? Is he trying to downplay that now? Maybe I’m making stuff up.

TPO, you’re right, I started having second thoughts about the high score total within about 3 minutes of publishing it. 17 to 10 might have been a better guess, or perhaps 20 to 13. But, it’s too late to change it now. :)

UM by at least 10.

I’m torn.
I hate both schools, so no way to pick there.
I want Michigan to win, and to really crush Smith, to make Brady Quinn look better for the Heisman. But if Michigan goes to the BCS Championship game, I think the chances of an ND-Michigan rematch are below slim to none, so I kind of am pulling for Ohio State.
I guess I’ll just go to Annapolis for Navy-Temple. Much easier to find a side to root for.

You do realize Herbstreit went to OSU, right? And that he called Steve Breaston “worthless”? There was never any doubt who he’d be picking in this game.
