As those who pay attention to the countdown thingy at left are already aware, Shannon’s baby is due tomorrow! When I texted her a few minutes ago to ask if Logan has been born yet, she wrote back, “Not yet! God I wish!” She said that if she hasn’t gone into labor by tomorrow, the doctors will set a date to induce. (She also said it was OK for me to blog all this.)
It’s mildly surprising that Logan hasn’t been born yet, considering Shannon was already having Braxton Hicks contractions back in August when we visited her (and when the above picture was taken). But then again, as Shannon’s mom said, it would have been a cosmic oddity if the baby was born early, considering Shannon is always late for everything. Hehe.
Anyway, stay tuned!

She should take a couple brisk walks around the block…or have lots of sex ;)

That is, if the “knife in the ketchup bottle” method actually works.

Consume chocolate covered raisins, about a pound. Gets everything moving. Or take some castor oil, but the raisins taste way better.
Medically approved. Worked 100% of the time in a series of four.

First kid - 2 weeks “overdue” is not uncommon …
And, to put it a tad more delicately, that which started said kid in the first place can speed up its arrival in the open air (something to do with hormonal bathing of the cervix and female response to such stimuli) … … (was that sufficiently delicate ?) …
There are various ways to induce … and, from not-quite-first-hand experience, the various ways of inducing that don’t involve actual surgical intervention will work in their own sweet time …
Important advice for P.J. - stay at the top end, with important bits out of reach … during actual labour, mothers-to-be have been known to grab HARD and not let go during contractions … (and they’ll apologise afterwards … most of the time … when they can finally stop laughing at the memory
of the look on their spouse’s face …) … (learned from the experiences of others, thankfully, in my case !) …

So, Allie, what you are so delicately saying is that the baby should make some room?
