Eragon trailer delayed again
Posted by on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 9:24 pm

Harumph. The trailer for Eragon, originally scheduled to be released with X-Men 3, then pushed back to Superman Returns, has been delayed again:

Today, a reliable source close to the movie who wished to remain anonymous told us that Fox wants to move the trailer off of Superman Returns so that the special effects are further along when the trailer releases. Right now, the movie effects (Saphira, etc.) still have a long way to go. We have no information as to which movie they now anticipate the trailer will release on, but we’ll update you as soon as we hear something!

Hmm… how about the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel? That’d be awesome…

Seeing as no one commented on this post, I thought I would add a little pity post to it. Hmm…don’t really know what Eragon is. Sounds like a Lord of the Rings type thing. Now I’m having flashbacks to sitting for hours in the cinema so that Soren could watch those stupid films. The things I do for sex - *cough* I mean love! The things I do for love!

Or you could just watch the star wars trailer, and then the Lord of the Rings trailer and get the same story…

I am a huge fan of the Inheritance Trilogy and have been looking forward to the teaser for Eragon ever since it was supposed to appear in front of X-Men 3. I think that 20th Century Fox better get it together and pull off the teaser pretty soon or they’ll be in big trouble. A huge movie event like Eragon always needs to be advertised at least 6 months prior to release, and we’re already 5.5 months away from December 15. Look at Spider-Man 3, it was a pleasant surprise to see the teaser in front of Superman Returns, as I thought they’d wait a couple more months before showing us anything, but they worked their buts off so that we could get something relatively early (seeing that it’s still 10+ months until May 4th, 2007). On that note, the Eragon teaser better be online and in theatres before the end of July if they want word of mouth to hype the release as much as possible. Or else they’ll be looking at another big budget dissapointment.

I’ve really been looking forward to that!!! this is cruddy!!!!! i agree with Jamal: they better get their butts into gear!

I just recently read the Eragon book and I cant describe how much I loved it. I am currently reading Eldest. I friggin’ want to see that teaser for the movie which Im sure will be awesome. I’d like to see just a glimpse of what Sapphira looks like. The movies bound to be awesome but if they don’t get the advertisement they need for a movie like this and don’t do well in the box office they may not make another one which is how it is with most movies unfortunately. I highly agree with Jamal and Nikki, they seriously need that teaser out NOW!!

I agree with all three of you. I’ve been waiting to see a glimpse of Saphira, since
I could remember. I’ve been waiting and waiting, and I’m almost getting sick of still
waiting to see this dragon. I know they could of had it out by now, look at Harry Potter or
Reign of Fire, they showed the dragon way before the release date. If they don’t start
putting anything out, everyone who loved the books will start to get pissed off and complain,
like I’m doing right now. If they don’t put the trailer in front of the movie “Invincible”.
They are going to have a hard time getting enough fans to see the movie. And I really want
to see this movie!!! For me its kind of like waiting to see “Pirates of the Carribean” but
without for right now seeing barely anything to make me want to go see it.

The teaser still isn’t out but they finally released the official poster for the film, on which you
can see Saphira. THANK GOD! But we’re still waiting for the Teaser of course. I wonder if 20th Century Fox is going to do like Ice Age 2, where they only released 2 teasers, one of them being 3 months before the release of the film. I hope not. Personally, I think Warner Bros. Pictures would have been a better choice than 20th Century Fox. Check out the official poster here:
