[UPDATE, 8/22/06: For the latest, up-to-date commentary on Spike Lee’s film — which I was in — please visit my homepage or my Katrina category.]
Well, that went well… I think. I guess I’ll find out for sure when the movie comes out. :)
Here’s what I was looking at throughout the interview:
I’m on the bus back to Connecticut now (blogging via cell-phone modem). I’ll probably post some more thoughts on my meeting with Spike later.
UPDATE: Much more on the interview here.

So, for once, you’re gonna hope your story gets Spike’d ?
January 27th, 2006 at 5:26:33 pm
Dude, I told you his was an Arsenal fan
January 27th, 2006 at 5:28:25 pm
OK. Did you like sprout to 7 feet tall or did he like shrink to the size of Munchkin????
January 27th, 2006 at 5:37:54 pm
He is a USC fan too… I have seen photos of him at the USC games on the side lines.
January 27th, 2006 at 5:42:57 pm
he’s Yoda! Spike is Yoda! (Well. Except for the Green part. :) Spikey to Mikey :) ~ “So then the storm data proves the levees were detonated by Dr. Max Mayfield. You have learned Well, young padawan.”
NO NO NO J/K etc :)

Brendan is very tall.. and Spike is short so the picture of them is pretty funny.
I think it deserves a photo caption contest all it own.
January 27th, 2006 at 6:02:21 pm
Good LORD! I think the government bombed Spike’s kneecaps!
What the hell?? Are you really that tall, Brendan? I didn’t think Spike was THAT short.
January 27th, 2006 at 6:18:31 pm
My guess is that Brendan is sitting on a stool, which I’m sure they had him do for the filming, and it just happens to be a very tall stool.
January 27th, 2006 at 6:28:21 pm
Brendan is tall atleast 6′1″ or 6′2″
January 27th, 2006 at 7:49:26 pm
Ahhh - so it’s not a picture with Webster …
January 27th, 2006 at 8:22:52 pm
as i recall Brendan is more than 6′2″ just don’t recall how tall he actually is… he shall have to fill us in.
January 27th, 2006 at 8:28:23 pm
I’ll agree that Brendan’s more than 6′2″. I’m just barely 6′, and I’m sure Brendan’s more than 2 inches taller than me.

can’t wait to hear more about this interview

Congrats Brendan.
Two of my neighbors deployed during Katrina.
One is a woman and an MP and was on a C-130 into LA at night with her unit right after the eye exited the state. She spent her first week at the Superdome. She said it was pretty boring.
Not bad for a Texas unit to get into NOLA before it flooded, eh?
She told me that she had never seen so many choppers and fixed wing assets in the air, ever. They had a great view from the Superdome. She said at one point they counted over 100 aircraft.
The man drove NYFD volunteers around fighting fires. Great story about how these men tried to repay NOLA for their help after 9/11.
Just two of the many first-hand stories from Katrina.

Spike Lee’s not just USC alumni, he’s even T.O. alumni =0). (So the pamphlets said)
January 28th, 2006 at 1:21:44 pm
So, does Spike like the Tony Adams Aresenal defense of the late 80’s and early 90’s? Of does he appreciate the fluid motion Anelka brought to the table for those few years during the mid-late 90’s? Or perhaps he prefers the cheap play of Patrick Viera? Or maybe, just maybe, he became a fan of the team during the george graham days … or perhaps he misses Charlie Nicholas like Nick Hornby does …
January 28th, 2006 at 1:45:59 pm
I’m a Man U fan myelf but I still liked the Liam Brady/Frank Stapleton years myelf.
January 28th, 2006 at 7:55:30 pm
Red Devil fan myself … just pondering the reason behind this jersey … I doubt he has been to highbury.

If you’d worn an ND shirt you’d already be arguing over billing and residual rights.
