Beautiful Cheerleader Series
Posted by on Monday, December 5, 2005 at 10:54 pm

Honestly, I’m so sick of championships being decided by polls. Take, for example, the Athlon Sports Cheerleader of the Year contest. It’s just not fair to let biased voters decide these things. Dammit, we need to let these girls battle it out in the bathroom stall on the field!

:)

But as long as we’re stuck with this flawed system, I suppose I might as well cast a ballot. I would go with either ASU’s Shaina (out of Pac-10 pride, since USC’s Natalie was eliminated in the second round) or IU’s Megan (out of Indiana state pride, and also because she’s the hottest one), but since it seems to be a two-woman race between UK’s Kelly and WVU’s Lara, I guess I’ll cast a pragmatic vote and choose Lara. She’s not my favorite, but she’s way cuter than Kelly!

And yes, I have officially given this too much thought. :)

Wasn’t one of the ASU cheerleaders a porn star? Is that the one you are voting for?

Speaking of giving it too much thought … can you figure out how the finalists were chosen, based on the vote totals from rounds 1 through 4? Clearly the top four from each round advanced, but how did the other three get in? I don’t think it was highest vote-getters — if it was, Lindsay from Penn State would be in there. And it’s not the top TWO from each round — there’s no Andrea from Indiana, and again, Lindsey from Penn State got screwed, uh, left out. And of course, there’s only 7 finalists, not 8. So how did Shaina jump over, uh, pass by, Lindsey?

It’s also not a conference thing — Kentucky and Auburn are both represented from the SEC, so it can’t be that Megan had the one and only Big 10 slot.

If I were to vote, I’d write in Lindsey just to protest the unfairness of the system.

  3. Brian Foster Says:

Sorry — Casey was the one who slipped past Lindsey, not Shaina. As far as I can tell, anyway.

Thanks for the interesting Google search. :) The answers to your questions are Yes and No. The former ASU cheerleader who appeared in a porn movie in her ASU cheerleading outfit was Courtney Cox, porn name Courtney Simpson.

The sacrifices I make, the boring things I research, all for the sake of my loyal readers. :)

  5. Brian Foster Says:

Uh, upon further review — how shall I put this delicately? — it appears that Penn State voters were using butterfly ballots.

But still — we have to work with the results we were given.

Here’s the Arizona Republic article about the ASU porn star:

OK, we have been reluctant to even mention this, but it’s been out there for a while now, and you’re probably going to hear about it sooner or later.

In fact, a lot of Arizona State fans have already heard the unsettling news.

A former ASU cheerleader has evidently decided to leverage the life skills she learned in Tempe into a career in, uh, the adult film industry.

We’re going to leave her real name out of it for her family’s sake, but she goes by the aliases Courtney Simpson and Cory Heart.

It’s pretty sad, but making matters worse, she has brought the Sun Devils into it.

We’ll leave the sordid details to your imagination, but there are photos and video of the woman plying her trade while wearing an ASU cheerleading outfit, or at least an exact replica.

There are shots of her cheering the ASU basketball team, and the girl is identified on at least one adult Web site as a “former Arizona State University cheerleader.”

We’re told by an ASU official that she was dismissed from the cheerleading squad, but not for the adult stuff, which apparently happened after she left in 2004-05.

Of course, we wondered if the school could take legal action.

“ASU vigorously protects its trademarks and intellectual property,” spokesperson Terri Shafer said. “(ASU) will look into this matter and take appropriate action if it believes there is an issue of infringement.”

We also found that cheerleaders are required to sign an agreement, which includes:

“I know that I am part of a team representing ASU and will therefore always try to present myself in the best interest of the university.”

Maybe she glossed over that part.

Anyway, it only adds to the school’s reputation as a sin den.

Playboy recently put ASU back into its list of the nation’s top 10 party schools, several ASU coeds were pictured in the magazine’s “Girls of the Pac-10″ spread and it was only a few years ago that some fraternity members took part in taping a pornographic video.

“This film has no relationship to the university or its programs,” Shafer said. “It reflects only upon those who created it.”

That’s how it ought to be, but is it any wonder that even folks working inside the walls darkly refer to the place as Always Something University?

  8. Brendan Says:

P.S. Considering that “several…coeds” from EVERY Pac-10 school were pictured in Playboy’s “Girls of the Pac-10,” I don’t see how the ASU girls’ presence proves anything about ASU. Now, the fact that one really hot ASU girl is on the cover… er, so I’ve heard…

    Huzzah!

  10. Long John Says:

Lara is clearly the best one. If you don’t agree, you’re clearly stupid.

  11. Anonymous Says:

They’re all pitching wedges — look good from about 120 yards away.

  12. remnant Says:

Lara is quite possibly the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. My heart is still racing.

  13. Anonymous Says:

All that stuff about representing ASU is boilerplate — it’ll never hold up in court!

  14. Nebraska'94,'95&'97 Says:

I personally liked DANA FELDER from Virgina Tech!

But I can give MEGAN MARTZ from IU a vote as well.
