NHS tennis update
Posted by on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 6:04 am

Kim and the Newington High girls tennis team lost to Greenwich yesterday in the first round of the state tournament, after beating New Britain in the qualifying round.

There’s no shame in losing to Greenwich, though; those damn Fairfield County rich kids are always really good at tennis. :) [Fight fiercely, Greenwich… -ed.] Congrats to the Indians on their 6-1 win over New Britain, and good luck to Kim & co. in the individual tournament! (That starts on Saturday.)

Thanks for the follow-up. Those Greenwich kids are born with rackets in their hands and courts in their backyard, according to a good source. But our girls made them play good tennis and the girls enjoyed the match.
